The West values Albanians

Yesterday, the Austrian chancellor with the joint works of the government in Kosovo. An important part of these works will also be the reconstruction of the city of Prishtina. More than 18 countries have requested that the agency’s center be in this city.
On this occasion, the Chancellor of Austria and the Italian Prime Minister, Romano Prodi, expressed to each other their gratitude for the role Albania is playing in successfully coping with the exodus of Kosovars. Meanwhile, with this major commitment of the Albanian government in support of NATO’s efforts for the liberation and then securing the free and safe return of Kosovars to their homeland, the President of France, Jacques Chirac, and the German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, have sent congratulatory messages to Prime Minister Majko. In these messages they express their high respect for the hospitality and solidarity shown toward Kosovars, as well as the readiness of the Albanian people, state institutions and Albanian nongovernmental organizations to successfully cope with this mass exodus.
It is further stated in the message that thanks to this support, sustained in the most difficult time, it became possible to create the conditions for restoring peace and stability in Kosovo.
The chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Sali Berisha, on the occasion of Kosovo’s selection as the center of the European Union’s reconstruction agency, sent a congratulatory message to Kosovo’s outgoing prime minister Bujar Bukoshi, through which he congratulates him on this important decision of the European Union in favor of a free, democratic and independent Kosovo.
