After the large and rather confused rumor mill that yesterday spread through Albanian society shaken by the events of yesterday and the day before in the northern city, restoring order in Tropojë still seems impossible. There were also many voices yesterday according to which the special forces sent to the city never even arrived there. Several phone calls from residents of Tropojë, who ask to remain anonymous, claim that the town is still under the control of gangs and that rival clans aligned with different political sides are clashing there with automatic and heavy weapons. Also yesterday, the spokesman of the Ministry of Public Order officially said that "the police forces sent to the city of Tropojë cooperate with the city’s residents in the capture of the persons who organized the criminal events and in bringing them before legal responsibility." The official statement did not specify whether the police had entered the northern city, which yesterday was under the control of weapons. The only reason given yesterday by the government and its media was that the sound of the weapons echoing in the northeastern city was hindering communication with it.

Pandal, Malaj sent Prime Minister Agim Shehu the report with the figures of yesterday’s bloodshed in the city of Tropojë. Government sources claim that the dead person was the representative of the prefect Azem Hajdari [?]. The spokesman of the Democratic Party presented yesterday a chronology of the events of yesterday’s fighting in Bajram Curri, according to which left-wing and right-wing forces were confronting each other there. According to this chronology, the conflict in Bajram Curri is linked to the arrival from Tirana of the Deputy Minister of Public Order Ilir [?.] and the order he gave to arrest the head of the PD branch in Tropojë, Basri [?.], and the two cousins of MP Azem Hajdari. These sources claim that the police killed one of the young men and the others fled. Later the citizens began a conflict with the police. Government sources declared that in Wednesday’s fighting the chief of investigations at the Tropojë police station, and the chief of police in the village of Margegaj, were also killed.
