Editorial BY LORENC VANGJELI The battle of the books This week politics in Albania is published for peace and consensus. There is a little more in the week that in Tirana, however, a new battle has begun. Peace in Parliament in the approval of laws with a three-fifths majority and electoral reform, and the battle of books as much as of authors. And although in this country peace is not news, while battle is the normal news, this coexistence in the order of events has aroused confusion instead of hope and a confused hope for tomorrow. The publications by Helen Kadarese, Edi Rama, Ben Blushi, Blendi Fevziu, Spartak Ngjela, Sokol Balla or even a cycle of poems by Sokol Ollldashi, had guaranteed public attention not only because of their content but because of the authorship they carried. In Tirana, which is big and a metropolis for Albania, but a lost province in the big European sphere, this battle has aftertaste, the power and insistence of fashion: what is in fashion must be embraced by everyone without any distinction and without any doubt.
