Agron Kuliçaj’s secret order for Dajti is uncovered

“Alarm” at SHKB over the exposure of operations: We are investigating. RENEA: The fault lies with disinformation Agron Kuliçaj’s secret order for Dajti is uncovered The October 2010 letter from the deputy police director to the court: No media and no relatives of the victims in the proceedings, they would be exposed. A US cable: Kuliçaj is suspected of giving information to Dritan Dajti The news More than a year later, the document is revealed: the deputy director general of the State Police, Agron Kuliçaj, sent a letter to the Serious Crimes Court, asking for a closed trial for Dritan Dajti, not only for the media, but also for the relatives of the victims and the defendants. A suspicious position that shows the fear of the police chief about the truths that might emerge from the trial proceedings. According to a cable from the US embassy, Kuliçaj was the man whom police officials accused of compromising the operations to arrest Dritan Dajti. In the photo: The deputy director general of the State Police, Agron Kuliçaj (right) and a facsimile of the official letter from deputy police director Kuliçaj addressed to the Serious Crimes Court requesting that the Dritan Dajti trial be kept secret TIRANA More than a year ago, the deputy director general of the State Police, Agron Kuliçaj, signed a document for the Serious Crimes Court of first instance and the Serious Crimes Prosecutor’s Office, in which he asks that in the trial of citizen Dritan Dajti, accused by the police of killing 4 police officers in August 2009, there should be not only no media present, but also no relatives of the victims or even the defendants. Shqiptarja.com has obtained the letter, which in fact was not signed by the Director General of the State Police, Hysni Burgaj, but by his deputy, Agron Kuliçaj. “We would like to bring to your attention that, given the work profile of the police officers summoned to this trial as well as the duties they currently perform, we suggest that the court hearing in which Kuliçaj will testify should be held behind closed doors and that the participation of journalists from the print and broadcast media, as well as the relatives of all parties in the proceedings, be excluded” writes Kuliçaj in... continues on page 2 In the photo: The deputy director general of the State Police, Agron Kuliçaj (right), and a facsimile of the official letter from deputy police director Kuliçaj addressed to the Serious Crimes Court requesting that the Dritan Dajti trial be kept secret

Events filled with blood, pain, revolt, losers who seemed eternal and winners still unconfirmed. The well-known American magazine TIME chose the person of the year and it is a covered face of the protester. There are dozens of names that extend the geography of protest across the world where revolutions were and are being made, with and without blood. Photographer Peter Hapak, especially for the special edition of “Time”, also made his own “portfolio”, with countries, names and photos: Tunisia with Mannoubia Bouazizi, the mother of the Tunisian vendor Mohamed Bouazizi, who set himself on fire, igniting the jasmine revolution in his homeland. Then come many other names. Egypt begins with the revolutionary blogger Mahmoud Salem, the doctor Yah[i?] Abdel Shafy and dozens of protesters. The US is represented by photos of the protesters who filled the squares from Oakland to Wall Street, demanding the redistribution of material goods. Spain, the country where the occupation of the squares by the “indignant” began, with protesters such as Carmen Rodriguez, or filmmaker Stephane Grueso, Syria with activists Abdulhamid Sulaiman, Rami Jarrah and Mohamed Abazid, who left the blood-soaked country. India with activist Anna Hazare, the leader of the... Did we not shed enough blood, or do we not deserve the cover of “Time”, more than the Greek dog? continues on page 6
