The draft state budget for next year foresees the dismissal of around 1,000 employees, while promising wage and pension increases. Meanwhile, the salary of the President of the Republic for next year will increase by 2,000 lek per month

The humiliation of Albanians in Skopje

Prof. Donard Hasani In recent days, at the Albanian Theatre of Skopje, the premiere of the play “The General of the Dead Army” was staged, a dramatization of the novel of the same title by the writer I. Kadare. The performance was produced by the Albanian troupe of this theater, under the direction of Bosnian director Dino Mustafi?. Considered one of the best-known directors in the Balkans, Dino Mustafi?, with his latest premiere, proved that, as director of the MESS Festival in Sarajevo, he rightfully awarded himself the audience prize for the performance “Helver’s Night.” The premiere of this collaboration between the Albanian troupe and the Bosnian director was met with numerous and justified debates. Presented as a drama (dramatization) that had stripped the text of Kadare’s novel of its value, it actually turns out that the director exceeded all his competencies, not by using, but by misusing the author’s text. The greatest harm is that this deformation of the text, the spirit and the purpose of the original work, was also aided by the Albanian actors themselves.
