The leader of the LSI, Ilir Meta, in a public statement to the media guaranteed that there is a video implicating the Socialist Party leader Edi Rama. Just two days after the Supreme Court decided to acquit him of corruption charges, Mr. Meta, speaking to journalists, asked the director of the show “Fiks Fare”, Filip Çakuli, to make available only two minutes of airtime to publish a video which, according to him, would dispel the “concern” that Socialist leader Rama has about pressure on the justice system.
“If Edi really wants transparency and if Edi really wants to face all Albanians, all internationals, regarding what he calls the death of justice, what he calls pressure on the courts, prosecutors, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Intelligence Service, etc., I invite him, starting today and whenever he wishes, on the show “Fiks Fare”, to...

So what is the students’ video from Vitrina?

So what is the students’ video from Vitrina?
An incident at the private university “Vitrinat” inadvertently brings to light and into the public eye what really happens in some private realities of knowledge in Albania. After a seemingly trivial clash between a student and the university’s bodyguard, with the later involvement of the police, many shocking things are learned:
1- The presence of bodyguards in a university, who according to students’ testimonies serve to exert pressure over the various payments young people are required to make.
2- The high level of aggressiveness, not only from the bodyguard, but also from the teaching staff, who instead of finding the strength to calm the conflict and restore balance, become involved in debates with the police and the students.
3- In its press release, the university calls its students “delinquents” and describes the police action as being in defense of the “delinquents.” All of this remains to be verified, but so far it appears that the signs of violence are on the students and not on the bodyguard or the teaching staff.
4- Two other students have reported the violence of this university’s bodyguards and the pressure to buy expensive books. The students have also made recordings, which they handed over on CD as evidence to the police.
In fact, the official statement of the Tirana police notes: “As material evidence, CD materials were seized, in which the unlawful acts of this citizen are shown through recordings. Articles 236/2 and 90 and 25 of the Criminal Code.”
Here another problem arises. Will the recordings made by the students be taken as evidence by Albanian justice? In the video that the young people made, will those bodyguards be properly identified? Will the people filmed committing violence be taken into account by Albanian justice, or will they be considered as a manipulated CD, as if the bodies in the footage were actors and as if everything else were interpretation, editing, fabrication. Total confusion in the Albanian movement.
