THE WORKER CONTROL GROUPS ARE MAKING THEIR VOICE MORE EFFECTIVE
Workers, cooperative members and administrative employees organized into control groups are making full and effective use of their mission. Only in this way are they helping to solve problems accumulated in different sectors of the economy. In a conversation between our correspondent Odise Paskali and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, comrade Adil Çarçani, it emerged that the bureau of the village authority of Rreth-Greth [?], divided into three sections, had placed the economic and administrative situation in the enterprise under control. The resolution of a number of irregularities was achieved through the control exercised by the groups. Those ongoing inspections have brought to light not a few shortcomings and have helped increase responsibility. For example, in the trade and services sector, obvious shortcomings were noted in the use of goods, in supply, in work discipline and in dealing with the people’s requests. The members of the groups have made specific remarks and have called for immediate measures. In many cases their remarks were taken into account and weaknesses were corrected. In some workplaces, the groups checked compliance with technical safety standards, working conditions and the state of the accounts. These inspections revealed the need for new organizational measures. In many cases the groups have shown determination and political maturity. They are helping make the voice of the masses more effective. Based on the experience gained, it is becoming clear that worker control groups should act more often, more responsibly and closer to the concerns of working people. This is an important path toward strengthening socialist democracy in the daily activity of organs and institutions.

A good example: it is an argument for setting aside more in livestock production
Under today’s working conditions and the ever-growing demand for livestock products, every good experience acquires special value. In one production unit, notable results have been achieved in animal husbandry, in increasing the production of milk and meat, as well as in improving the feed base. These results did not come about by chance. They are the fruit of persistent work, careful management and the regular application of technical and scientific requirements. Feed norms have been studied, production cycles have been followed meticulously and veterinary control has been strengthened. Particular care has been given to preserving the breed, to rational breeding and to reducing losses. Experience shows that where work is carried out with planning, discipline and responsibility, results are not lacking. This example is strong proof that this experience should be spread to other farms as well, so that internal reserves can be used better and livestock production can move forward. The managers and specialists of this unit stress that they still have reserves to tap and objectives to achieve. This requires continuity, better organization and closer cooperation among the production links.

Wise activity with the village cooperative members in the enterprises
. In one area of the country, an intensive activity has been carried out with cooperative members and village cadres to strengthen the implementation of production tasks. Meetings, assemblies, consultations and on-site inspections have been organized to see closely the pace of work, the state of the crops, services to agriculture and the supply of material resources. In these meetings, shortcomings and ways to overcome them have been openly discussed. Instructions have been given for better use of the land, for greater care toward livestock and for the timely application of agricultural techniques. Special importance has been attached to the role of the grassroots organizations and the people’s councils. Work with people, convincing them and involving them in solving problems has been seen as an essential condition for better results. Positive experiences are being generalized and new initiatives are also being encouraged.
