Wheat in the weather conditions of these days
DRAWING ATTENTION
Today most of the country is under the influence of a polar cold wave, which has arrived in our country accompanied by low temperatures and snowfall. To get through this severe winter period without damage, which could last another 2-3 weeks, a series of measures must be taken without delay. These have also been made known to agricultural workers, but now is the time to move from words to action. It is time to rigorously check the condition of the wheat in the field and the indicators for the proper overwintering, as well as the drainage condition of the planted areas. Are the managers and specialists taking measures for these tasks? - agricultural crop specialists rightly ask. Agricultural Research Institute engineer comrade Luan Tare has spoken clearly about this. He emphasized that in such weather conditions, care for wheat must be multifaceted. Priority must be given to monitoring the drainage of water in lands where there is excess moisture and where frost appears. For plots with heavy soil, careful inspection is needed, since frost can cause damage to the tillering node. In these conditions it is very important not to allow water to accumulate, but to keep drainage channels open. At the same time, the germination and development of the plants must be observed carefully, especially in low-lying lands and in plots that were sown later. Specialists advise that where there are layers of ice or hard crusts, measures should be taken to break them, so as to prevent the plants from suffocating. The cold weather of these days also draws attention to ensuring the feed base for livestock and protecting orchards, but above all it requires discipline and organization in agricultural work. Only in this way can these severe winter days be overcome without consequences.

CONVERSATIONS THROUGH THE NEWSPAPER
the sick stone. Dealing with the problems of geology and geologists, the writer Xh. [?.] reminds comrade Xhemal Adhami, through a question, how he judges the problem of geologists, their beautiful songs and plays, but, on the whole, with revolutionary content. "Well, you have asked correctly about this, comrade. Why are we so sensitive about the figures of geologists in our artistic literature? Their world has been presented so narrowly that it can hardly be called complete. In the stone golems something struggles, but it receives little light. In short, I think geologists are people of action and scientific thought, of determination and character. They require a broader and deeper artistic portrayal." He further emphasizes that geologists have worked and lived in difficult conditions, in mountains and remote areas, searching for underground wealth. For this reason they deserve more attention from literature and art. In the end, the conversation also turns to builders, who, according to the author, are equally worthy of becoming characters in literature and film. There too, a sharp eye is needed, knowledge of life and work, as well as responsibility not to fall into schematism.
A conversation about socialism with excavator operator Gjetë Stojani...
REPORTAGE
Right from the beginning I realized it would be a difficult meeting. Still, I knew I had to do it. That was the journalist’s duty. I set off early toward the construction site where Gjetë Stojani worked, one of the best-known excavator operators. I was met amid the noise of engines and the morning frost. "Socialism is not measured by words, but by work," he told me as soon as we sat down. The conversation began simply, but quickly took on a warm and thoughtful tone. Gjetë Stojani spoke about the first years of work, about sacrifices, about the great constructions, and about the ordinary people who carry them on their shoulders. He spoke without rhetoric. He was convinced that socialism requires justice, honesty, and accountability before work. At one point he fell silent and pointed to the machinery. "These don’t run on empty words," he said. "They run on discipline, sweat, and responsibility." From that conversation emerged not only the portrait of a worker, but also a way of thinking about the time we are living through. Chronicle of "Zefri"...
At the beginning of dinner, you notice these and those words and fragments of conversation, where, sometimes with responsibility and sometimes carelessly, the day’s work, problems, worries, and wishes are mentioned. Later, the imagination leads you to ordinary people, to the rhythm of their lives and to the way they cope with it. This chronicle does not aim to give recipes, but to note certain phenomena and thoughts. At its center are ordinary people, who make everyday life with patience and honesty. Their voice should be heard more.
