Comrade Ramiz Alia meets with workers of the “Enver Hoxha” Tractor and Automotive Combine

We base the country’s all-round progress on the achievements made so far, on the advantages of the social order — SPEECH BY COMRADE RAMIZ ALIA — Dear comrades, In this enterprise where I have come, I was also reminded of other years. Here, with much work and effort, with tears and sacrifices, our workers laid its foundations. Today our nation has experienced great development. Under the leadership of the Party, our people have advanced on the road of socialism, creating with their own forces a developed economy, industry, and agriculture. Along this path we have also had difficulties, but we have not stopped. It is clear that the all-round progress of our country is based on the achievements made so far, on the advantages of our social order, on the work and wisdom of the people. These are solid foundations on which we will move forward. Our task is to work better, to increase production, quality and productivity, to protect social property, and to strengthen discipline at work. Every work collective must make its own contribution. The Party and the state will support the just initiatives of workers, specialists, and cadres. At the center remains the person, his well-being and that of his family, the education of youth, and the strengthening of socialist patriotism. We will not allow temporary difficulties to obscure our perspective. Socialist Albania is strong, stable, and capable of facing any challenge. The meeting took place in a warm and fraternal atmosphere. The combine’s workers expressed their determination to carry forward the tasks of the plan and to fulfill their duties toward the homeland with honor. (continued on page 2)

In many countries of the socialist world great changes are taking place, but this does not mean that we should follow wrong paths. On the contrary, we must rely on our own experience and move ahead with moderation. Today the future of our country requires calmness, discipline, work and confidence. Whoever is shaken by the winds of the times risks losing direction. Our people, however, have shown that they know how to keep the helm firm. (continued on page 2)

Our Albania has long been firmly on the socialist road. The fundamental fact is that it is a free and independent country, a country with a solid internal situation, where the people are masters of their own destiny.
