Some of the people of the third lived from timber and livestock trade. Much was done, the economy grew, supplies and transport improved. In this development, cooperation with our Chinese friends also made a great contribution. On this occasion we express our gratitude for the warm reception, for the hospitality and respect shown to our delegation. Relations between our two countries have known a new development, on the basis of equality, mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs. The Albanian people are determined to defend their independence and freedom, to follow the socialist path they have chosen, and to strengthen national unity. We have been, we are, and we will remain free and independent. Our socialist society has achieved important victories in industry, agriculture, education and culture. There have been and there are difficulties, but we face them with our own forces, with work, discipline and faith in the Party. [?] Together with the comrades of Vlora and with the men of Labëria, with the heralds of our freedom and independence, with the victories of socialism. We chose our own path, free and independent, without submitting to anyone. The continuation of the discussion emphasizes that the Albanian people have made great sacrifices to build the new life and that they will not give up their ideals. On this path, they rely on work, unity and the strength of the Party. Albania has not asked for and does not ask for dictation from anyone. But life, work and tangible results speak more clearly than any slander. In the countryside and in the city, in enterprises and cooperatives, working people continue their duties with dedication. Houses have been built, schools have been opened, services have improved and socialist order has been strengthened. Whoever seeks to obscure this picture runs into everyday truth. — Impressions from Shkodra — During our stay in Shkodra we saw working people, with seriousness and confidence, who face the tasks of the day with dedication. In factories, in cooperatives and in institutions, the vitality of our socialist life is felt. Problems are not lacking, but people do not look at them pessimistically. They seek solutions, increase responsibility and rely on the collective. This spirit of work and vigilance is a guarantee for moving forward. In conversations with workers, technicians and cadres, the conviction becomes clear that achievements must be defended and carried further. (To be continued on page 3)

CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS, ADIL ÇARÇANI RECEIVED THE DELEGATION OF THE PR OF CHINA The Chairman of the Council of Ministers, comrade Adil Çarçani, received the delegation of the PR of China yesterday. During the meeting, the importance of good relations between the two countries was emphasized and the willingness to expand economic and cultural cooperation was expressed.
