Among us there is no place for hostility, but there is room for justice, for truth and for our free life. We love our country, our language, our customs and our national identity. No one can play with the feelings of the people. In difficult times we have known how to stand united. We respect others, but we demand to be respected. We are determined to defend our rights and our dignity. This is the wish of the workers, the youth, the women and the elderly. We are free and independent, and that is how we want to stay forever.

In one of the neighborhoods of Skopje, just after finishing the second shift, the workers of the tobacco factory were calmly coming out. Someone said that the workers of that factory were among the first to stand up for peace and order. Others spoke about the way the citizens had kept their composure. In the city one could feel the heaviness of the news and the words spread with malice. But ordinary people, workers, students, women, the young, showed that they knew how to distinguish truth from slander. They were not fooled by hidden calls, nor by provocations. In these troubled days, once again those same people, the simple people, were carrying on their shoulders the responsibility of preventing a slide into chaos. Yesterday in Prishtinë an agreement on interroad transport between the People's Socialist Republic of Albania and the People's Republic of Poland was signed. The agreement aims to facilitate the movement of goods and passengers, as well as to regulate matters of licenses, customs and the responsibilities of carriers. It provides for the strengthening of economic cooperation and the creation of more favorable conditions for trade exchanges between the two countries.

In a short commentary, the developments around the Cambodian issue and the international efforts for a political solution are discussed.
