The United Trade Unions Organization, a mass, militant and revolutionary organization, has become an important factor in defending the interests of the working class, strengthening its ties with the people's power, and mobilizing workers in the struggle to carry out economic and social tasks. At meetings and conferences of work collectives, in analyses by organizations and councils, there has been broad discussion of their role in defending the interests of workers, in encouraging the movement for productivity, saving, discipline and responsibility, for increasing economic efficiency and strengthening workers' control. Under conditions of the further deepening of socialist democracy, the role of the trade unions takes on even greater importance. They are a school of communist education, a tribune of the working class's thought, and an organization where the working masses express their concerns, demands and proposals. Everywhere it has been demanded that the organization be closer to the working person, know his troubles and needs better, and follow their समाधान persistently, acting in accordance with the laws of our socialist state and the norms of communist morality. It has played and continues to play a major role in the activation of women, youth and the working intelligentsia in economic and social life, in the spread of advanced experience, and in the organization of leisure time, cultural and sports activities. The tasks posed today require deeper political and organizational work, greater accountability, and a more determined fight against foreign manifestations, bureaucratism, formalism and any liberal attitude toward violations of socialist discipline. The trade unions must increasingly be a strong support of the Party and the people's power, a living tribune of the working class, an organization that firmly defends the interests of workers and contributes to the successful construction of socialism.

REPORT Yesterday, perhaps the entire people of Korça awaited with affection the veteran of the revolution and of the Party, Hysni Kapo. In the city square and in the hall of the BPSh, where the meeting was held, there was a special liveliness. Workers, young men and women, cooperative members, intellectuals and veterans warmly greeted the distinguished figure of the communist fighter and leader. From the rostrum, alongside the leaders of the district and the city, there was discussion of Korça's revolutionary traditions, the glorious path of the working class and the tasks of the day. The importance of strengthening discipline at work, mastering new technology and further raising the role of mass organizations was highlighted. The veteran's visit turned into a major political and civic demonstration. In enterprises and institutions, in cooperatives and schools, readiness was expressed to work better, to carry out plan tasks rigorously, to save raw materials and energy, and to raise the quality of production and the culture of service. Many workers spoke with pride about the results achieved, but also about the shortcomings that need to be overcome. It was demanded that everyone be responsible for their workplace, fight foreign influences and set an example in applying the norms of socialist morality. Korça, a city of hospitality and culture, gave this day a special warmth. In people's eyes one could read respect for the Party and faith in the socialist future.

Yesterday afternoon the people of the Korça district, workers, cooperative members, intellectuals, young men and women, gave comrade Hysni Kapo a warm reception. The enthusiasm of those present was expressed in applause and in fervent cries for the Party and socialism. Those present greeted with respect the figure of the old communist fighter, appreciating his contribution to the National Liberation War and to the socialist construction of the country. At the meeting it was emphasized that Korça has distinguished patriotic and revolutionary traditions and that its workers will do everything to fulfill the tasks placed before them.

Yesterday the government economic delegation of the PR of Albania, headed by comrade Adil Çarçani, returned home from Turkey. During its stay in Turkey, the delegation held useful and friendly talks on matters concerning economic relations between the two countries. (ATSH)
