Emphasis on art and culture, a need of the emancipated human being

The concept of freedoms and human rights has been inseparably linked to the deepening, expansion and enrichment of the content of his freedom and rights as a member of the social community. Thus, in the process of organizing and developing social life, man, by freeing himself more and more from blind dependencies on nature and society, is increasingly creating conditions for the affirmation of his individuality. The right of each person to occupy the place that belongs to them in social relations, to perform duties as well as possible in line with their abilities, to enjoy recognition and respect for the result of their work, to freely express their own thoughts, to cultivate their inclinations and tastes, etc., are also closely linked to determining the place of art and culture in the overall development of society. In our society, art and culture are important issues of social development. They are connected with the formation of the new human being, with the enrichment of his spiritual world, with the growth of the cultural and aesthetic horizon, with civic and moral education. In these conditions, the demands on art and culture arise from the very needs of the emancipated human being, from the need for a richer, truer and more worthy spiritual life. Art and culture are not external embellishments of life. They directly influence the way people think, feel and act. Therefore, their treatment requires responsibility, professionalism and a broad creative climate. Society expects creators, artists, writers and cultural workers to produce works that reflect our time, humanity and ideals, but at the same time are artistically accomplished, convincing and loved by the public. The demand for more art and culture is not a luxury. It is a demand for more civilization, for more human sensitivity, for more communication and understanding. In this sense, art and culture are part of the very emancipation of the human being. (Continued on page 2)
