— Elections are the key to the further democratization of the election and voting mechanism; this has been the central issue in discussions held by basic Party organizations, mass organizations and work collectives. — In numerous and varied discussions it has been pointed out that the further improvement of the election mechanism will have a positive impact on the development of democratic processes in our country, and on the more active involvement of people in political, economic and social life. — Different opinions have been expressed on expanding the field of candidacies, on the manner in which they are presented, on the role of social organizations and work collectives in proposing candidates, and on increasing the role of voters at all stages of the electoral process. — In many discussions it has been stressed that strict observance of the law, publicity and social oversight are important guarantees for the normal conduct of elections. A well-deserved recognition — The Vlora editor, our poet, is awarded the silver cup from Italy, an honor for Albania and for Campania and Molise. In the international poetry competition “The Golden Cup of Volturno,” organized in Italy, he was awarded the silver cup. In a ceremony held yesterday, the Vjosë-Selenicë-Jakard irrigation work was inaugurated. This canal will contribute to improving the irrigation of agricultural land and increasing yields in the areas it serves. Representatives of local authorities, agricultural specialists and residents of the area took part in the inauguration, where the importance of the project for the economic development of the region was emphasized.
