Democratization of life requires discipline and dynamism everywhere

Not only the country’s particular political situation, and the historical process of democratization and further reform of the country’s life, but especially the country’s economic situation and the poor results achieved in many sectors of the economy and production, require cadres and all workers to show discipline, dedication, and dynamism at work. In these new conditions, the responsibility of the cadres is manifold. It is linked to the ability to understand correctly the demands of the time, to adapt to the pace of developments, to enforce the law, to respect the new democratic norms, and at the same time to preserve order, calm, and civic responsibility. Everywhere conscious discipline is required, discipline that does not come from fear, but from social and state responsibility. Everywhere dynamism is required, quick action, better organization, implementation of decisions, and constant control. In the economy, in industry, in agriculture, in services, in administration, in education and culture, results depend more and more on the quality of leadership, the level of organization, and the mobilization of people. It is not possible to move forward at old rhythms when the demands of the time are new. Slowness, incompetence, negligence, and bureaucratism cannot be accepted either. In today’s conditions, every delay is costly, every carelessness brings consequences, and every lack of discipline harms the general interest. Democratization of life does not mean weakening responsibility; on the contrary, it demands greater responsibility, stricter accountability, and fuller respect for the law. It demands that everyone freely express their own opinion, but also take responsibility for the assigned task. It demands openness, but not carelessness; discussion, but not dragging things out; criticism, but not anarchy. Only in this way can we move forward. Only in this way can people’s trust in the state, in the institutions, and in honest work be strengthened. Only in this way can difficulties be overcome and conditions created for improving the country’s economic and social situation.
