Extraordinary mobilization to confront the extraordinary drought
Each person before a gigantic task — to overcome the exodus
— MIRAJED —
These summer and autumn days we are facing a difficult situation for agricultural production. Linked to the scant winter rainfall, the high temperatures and the lack of moisture have caused difficulties in many agricultural crops. Under these conditions, extraordinary mobilization is required, better organization of work, more rational use of water and all other means to save production.
In many areas of the country, especially in the lowlands, the drought has strongly affected maize, vegetables, forage and other crops. In some cooperatives and agricultural enterprises, measures have been taken for rotational irrigation, for improving canals and irrigation works, but much work still remains. Every waste of water must be avoided and every point of supply kept under control.
Full use of irrigation units, wells, reservoirs and every other source is of decisive importance. Workers, specialists and managers of agricultural economies must be constantly in the field and directly direct every work process, from irrigation to plant protection and to the harvesting and storage of production.
It is equally essential to work with high standards in order to fulfil the autumn sowing plan. The land must be properly prepared, seed must be secured, and mechanical equipment must be put into full readiness. Any delay would have consequences for the coming agricultural year.
In this important economic battle, everyone must take on their own task. Cooperative members, mechanizers, specialists and managing cadres must show high responsibility and a spirit of sacrifice, so that this extraordinary drought can be faced and bread and livestock for the people can be secured.
Exploiting electricity production
KOREÇ[?]
By making better use of local resources and reserves, as well as better organizing work, measures are being taken to cope with the energy difficulties. In some industrial and agricultural enterprises, consumption discipline is being strengthened and ways to save are being sought.
According to the latest data, special attention is being paid to the rational use of electricity during peak hours and the shifting of some production processes to other times. This will lead to better use of the network and existing capacities.
Energy-sector workers emphasize that savings remain a major reserve. Every kilowatt saved in enterprises, institutions and households directly helps the country's economy.
From our country of development the financial inspectorate
During this period, emphasis is being placed on financial control, the economical use of funds and respect for economic discipline. In enterprises and institutions, expenditures, the movement of materials and the implementation of plan regulations are being carefully examined.
Inspections have highlighted the need to increase the responsibility of managing cadres and specialists in the use of monetary and material resources. It is necessary to avoid abuses, improve documentation and strengthen internal control.
Special measures are being taken to follow the fulfilment of tasks meticulously and to protect socialist property.

Cooperative commerce in its first steps
The first years after liberation were difficult years. Our people had emerged from the war with severe wounds, a damaged economy and many shortages. In these conditions, the organization of cooperative trade took on special importance for supplying the people and for bringing the countryside closer to the city.
The first collection and sales points for goods were created. At the beginning there was a lack of means, premises and experience. Nevertheless, with the dedication of the workers and the support of the peasantry, the work began to take shape. Essential goods were distributed better and the foundations were laid for a network that would later expand.
This development also helped in the fight against private trade and speculation, setting new standards in the circulation of goods and in service to the people.

There is water, but the diffuser does not work
Before speaking with the study group on births and the study group on dairy cattle breeding, managers and specialists point out that water supply remains the main problem. In some places there is water, but the equipment does not function properly. This causes delays and difficulties in daily work.
It is necessary to repair the faults immediately, put the pumps into operation and ensure more regular technical follow-up. Without this, the results cannot be sustainable.
