Many seasonal crops are nearing harvest. The late ones are also being gathered. But even in these early September days, there is still much to do so that we can harvest them on time and collect them without losses. This is an important economic and social issue. What is now needed is strong work discipline, good organization, and the mobilization of all forces. In many districts and agricultural enterprises attention has been focused on taking every crop from the land, leaving nothing unharvested or untransported. This requires precise planning of the working day, the necessary transport means, storage and rapid processing. In particular, this concerns potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, onions, grapes, and other crops that do not tolerate delays. A separate issue is the preparation of seeds, the clearing of plots, and work on the new autumn sowings. The proper organization of these tasks determines whether losses are avoided and whether the market is regularly supplied. In some areas there is good experience and it should be spread. The councils, cooperatives, and agricultural enterprises must act decisively. — Comrade Adil Çarçani meets with workers and specialists from the agricultural enterprises of Vlorë. Determined to consolidate the economy and, above all, to increase its profitability and efficiency, in accordance with the Central Committee’s policy, followed with great care and persistence by Comrade Ramiz Alia, is to develop productive activity under new conditions. At the center of attention was the situation of the cooperatives and agricultural enterprises, as well as the work for a better economic organization. At the meeting it was stressed that every enterprise must operate effectively and with clear responsibility for its results. There was also discussion of work organization, discipline, and the encouragement of specialists and cadres to carefully follow every stage of production. In this context it was emphasized that the implementation of the new economic mechanism requires new thinking, greater responsibility, calculation and stricter control.
