Let Us Quickly and Fearlessly Learn the Lesson from Tusha

In the bustle of the last days of August and the first fifteen days of September, it became even clearer how necessary persistence is in supplying the market and implementing the party’s directives.
Durrës had 3,500 hectares of shallots harvested this year. It seemed here that everything was under control. In other summers they had also looked at these same hectares, with the crop in the barn and the bread in the oven, but something was not right. But what was it? And the time? In the end, after strict daily checks, the real cause emerged: lack of responsibility in timing, damage during threshing, losses in transport and delayed deliveries to warehouses. Thus it became clear that ordinary measures were not enough.
In other districts the same phenomenon was seen. In Lushnjë there were plots where yields were better, but work discipline was not at the same level. In Fier there were delays in sorting the grain, and in Shkodër the proper organization of transport was lacking for days on end. This meant that reserves were not used properly and the market was not supplied on time.
For this reason, the party committees and local government bodies demanded that no shortcoming be concealed. The truth had to be faced directly, without embellishment and without fear. Only in this way could the proper lesson be drawn and the work improved from one day to the next. It was requested that reports not remain just papers, but serve as a basis for concrete measures.
In the cooperatives and agricultural enterprises, brigades were mobilized, responsible persons were assigned for each link, and control and accounting were strengthened. Fuel savings were demanded, full use of machinery, and the avoidance of losses in every process. In many places this produced immediate results: threshing was accelerated, transport was secured, and deliveries increased.
The lesson from the flock, as the article called it, was not merely an expression. It was a call to carefully examine the small weaknesses that accumulate and become a major obstacle. Therefore, action had to be taken quickly, courageously, and without any hesitation, so that autumn could be faced successfully and the people would not feel shortages.
