THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PRESIDIUM OF THE PEOPLE'S ASSEMBLY OF THE P.S.R. OF ALBANIA, COMRADE RAMIZ ALIA, DEPARTS FOR NEW YORK
The Chairman of the Presidium of the People's Assembly of the Socialist People's Republic of Albania, Comrade Ramiz Alia, departed for New York to take part in the 45th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The international relations of our Republic, especially in recent months, have been characterized by intense activity which is reflecting our country as a factor of peace, stability and security in our region and beyond. In this context, numerous important high-level visits and meetings have made possible the expansion of our country's relations with various states and international organizations. At Rinas airport, the Chairman of the Presidium of the People's Assembly, Comrade Ramiz Alia, was seen off by senior leaders of the Party and the state. (ATSH)
At the beginning of implementing the new economic mechanism
The implementation of the new economic mechanism in enterprises is proceeding with difficulties, but the first steps have also been taken in the new organization of work and in economic responsibilities. Shortcomings are observed in planning, supply, and the use of means. In some cases there are still unclear points regarding the powers of the management bodies and the relations between enterprises and other institutions. Nevertheless, the experience of the first weeks is serving to draw lessons and improve work. (ATSH)

In some cooperatives and agricultural enterprises there are delays in sowing, a lack of discipline in the use of equipment, and problems in the organization of brigades.
