They have only one road — implementation In order to make an analysis as objective and as thorough as possible, to understand what is happening before us, it is necessary not to look only at the situation of the day, but also at how we have come to this point, through what paths we have passed. Comrade Ramiz Alia reminded us of this at the close of the work of the 9th Plenum of the Central Committee. In order to be as clear as possible about what we must do today, in several directions of work we need to take a step back, but not in order to deny the entire path that has been taken, not to become confused and disoriented before every problem, not to deem worthless everything we have done, but to draw useful lessons and experience. This is necessary, but without losing our guiding compass, without moving away for a single moment from the Party line, its ideals and norms. In the in-depth analysis and realistic judgment of many problems that were widely discussed at the 9th Plenum of the Central Committee, the maturity and wisdom of our Party stood out as always. Serious phenomena and shortcomings with an impact on the country’s economic and social development were subjected to critical and self-critical examination. At the center of this examination were the problems and concerns of our people. Problems relating to the country’s economic situation, the progress of reforms, ideological work, and the state of discipline and order in social life were dealt with realistically and with political responsibility. Among the many valuable remarks and important problems raised by the comrades of the leadership and other participants in the plenum, the issue that stood out as a matter of the day and as an immediate task was mobilization for the implementation of the decisions taken, and especially for changing the way of working. In the discussions held and in Comrade Ramiz Alia’s closing speech, emphasis was placed on the need for concrete action, on overcoming empty declarations, on strengthening discipline and responsibility, and on a new work spirit closely linked to the people’s difficulties and the demands of the time. Today the task is forcefully before us that the plenum’s decisions must not remain on paper, but become a work program in every link of our life. Fluctuating attitudes, useless reasoning, waiting for someone else to solve the tasks, are harmful. Every communist, every cadre, every worker has his own place and responsibility. Implementing the tasks requires clear thinking, organization, control and accountability. It also requires civic courage to strike at shortcomings, bureaucracy, formalism and indifference. There is only one road: implementation. Only in this way will the remarks and conclusions of the 9th Plenum of the Party Central Committee bear the fruit that the people expect, and become a real force for change in our economic, social and political life.

INFORMATION FROM THE SPRING SOWING CAMPAIGN EARLY SPRING WITH BIG TASKS The 3rd field is being planted. It shines up close! In the agricultural enterprise "Myslym Keta", in the Kukës district, it has been sown in advance. The cooperative workers are achieving 110 percent and are working every day for this.

- LUSHNJE - With the completion of the sunflower sowing, cotton sowing has begun in the district’s agricultural farms and cooperatives. As is known, our district has for years specialized in the production of this industrial crop. This year cotton will be sown on an area of 2,100 hectares. In the first days of the campaign efforts have been made to work at high pace and with good quality. All possibilities are being used for land preparation, seed supply and for the best possible organization of work. The aim is for sowing to be completed within the agrotechnical deadlines and for the premises to be secured for high yields. - SHQERI - With high work spirit, the workers are continuing the cotton sowing also in the farms of this district. So far, dozens of hectares have been sown and work is focused on the plots most suitable for this crop. Enterprises and cooperatives are taking measures for the mechanization of the processes and for respecting technological requirements. - SKRAPAR - Here too work has begun on cotton sowing in the planned areas. Agricultural workers are working with dedication, while the managers of the farms are closely following the progress of the work, the supply of the necessary inputs and discipline at work. - MALLAKASTËR - In the areas where cotton gives good results, organized sowing has been carried out according to the schedule. Cooperative members are showing dedication and are making use of the favorable weather to advance the work. In many farms the aim is that immediately after sowing measures be taken for further care of the crop.

Lenin”, the yield with the technology applied in the work on the farms of the unit is still far from the requirements. It was quickly discovered that part of the mechanical equipment had not been put into full readiness and this hindered the pace of work. The shortage of seed, fertilizer and the necessary care affected the delay of deadlines. The managers of the farm and the specialists are taking measures, but more responsibility and control are needed. (Continues on page 2)

The 27th National Spartakiad of the Fier Pioneers concluded In the city of Fier the closing events of the 27th National Spartakiad of the Pioneers were held. Teams from various districts of the country took part. Sports competitions and educational and cultural activities were held.
