The possibilities should be better used to increase the pace of work and ensure the smooth progress of agricultural operations in this vigorous spring - KORÇË - The fine days of this early spring should be used as much as possible to work better and faster on the front of agriculture and livestock farming. This valuable, up-to-date directive from the 9th Plenum of the Central Committee of the PPSH is being kept firmly in mind by the cooperativists and workers of the agricultural enterprises of the Korçë district. As in the past few days, work is intense not only in the lowland areas of the Korçë plain, but also on many hilly lands. From early morning until evening, the first care is being given to the bread grains, corn, potatoes and other crops. In the plots where work began earlier, around 1,800 hectares have been sown, and sugar beet planting has also begun. In many agricultural units, the daily work plans are being corrected and strictly implemented, aiming not only to increase the pace but also to ensure high quality. Everywhere efforts are being made to mitigate as much as possible the consequences of the lack of moisture in the soil. In the agricultural cooperatives of Bilisht, Vreshtas and Maliq, work is being carried out in dense shifts to complete as soon as possible the opening of furrows, leveling and the first irrigations. Progress is also being made with optimism and confidence in the state farms, where specialists have set out clear demands not to lose a single day or hour of work. In this early spring of great responsibility, the supply of material resources is also becoming important. Spare parts and repair brigades have been sent on time from the agricultural mechanics units. Where there have been delays, the leaders have taken measures to overcome them. In many areas, despite the well-known difficulties, work is being carried out according to a detailed plan for each day. Correspondents report that the best experiences are being spread from one unit to another. In renowned cooperatives such as Dvorani, Pojani, Bulgareci and others, the agrotechnical deadlines are being strictly observed. This has given vitality and momentum to the entire spring campaign. The tasks are great. But the opportunities are not lacking either. By working with better organization, at a higher pace and with stronger demands for quality, the Korçë district aims to successfully meet the many tasks of this spring.

In the premises of the Higher Pedagogical Institute of Shkodër, an exhibition of works by student painters has opened. Visitors have viewed with interest landscapes, portraits and compositions created with youthful spirit and artistic standards.
