Comrade Ramiz Alia continued to come close to work and creation whenever the Party and the work-revolutionizing bodies mobilize and free the spirit of initiative, labor, and the people’s conscience.
The large-scale construction now underway at the deep oil-processing plant in Ballsh is heard about and learned of almost every day. The top leader of the Party and the state, Comrade Ramiz Alia, expressed his interest today in seeing and closely following the progress of the work and in talking with oil workers and builders. Everywhere there were visible signs of initiative and creative ability among the collectives, so that these industrial works of first-rate importance for the country may be completed as soon as possible. Everyone feels that work here has gained a vigorous pace. This was told to us directly by Comrade Ramiz Alia, who had contact with workers, engineers, managers, and specialists. At the new plant important tasks are being carried out, lines and equipment are being installed, foundations for new machinery are being laid, the production base is being expanded, and the possibilities for further processing oil production within the country are increasing.
At the center where the work was assessed, Comrade Ramiz Alia talked with builders, technicians, and specialists. Accelerating the pace of work and improving construction quality are constant demands of the times. The importance of better organization, economical use of materials, and broader application of advanced methods was emphasized. Particular interest was shown in the progress of the main facilities, the completion deadlines, and their being put into use as soon as possible. The workers and cadres expressed their determination to carry out the assigned tasks to the end, to overcome any difficulty, and to maintain a high pace of work.
At the meetings with the collectives it was emphasized that everything depends on people, on each individual’s responsibility, and on unwavering support for the Party. There was discussion of technological discipline, the full use of machinery, attention to standards, and maintaining order in every sector. Experienced workers and newly arrived young people brought examples of dedication to work, proving that where initiative and organization advance together, the results are better. In these works the fruits of people’s labor and of trust in our own forces are clearly seen.
In the plant surroundings and the nearby sections, Comrade Ramiz Alia closely followed the work in progress. He congratulated the collectives on the results achieved and demanded that not a single day, not a single hour of work be lost, because the times require determination and commitment. The living conditions of the workers, housing, supplies, and care for the young people taking part in these works were also discussed. Everywhere the atmosphere of confidence and optimism could be felt that, with organized work and support for the Party, the set objectives will be achieved.
