Comrade Ramiz Alia visited the architecture exhibition of the Institute of Studies and Projects No. 1 Comrade Ramiz Alia, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the PPSH, was presented yesterday with the new projects and models of a series of important structures that are being studied and designed by the Institute of Studies and Projects No. 1. The exhibition presented architectural and urban planning solutions for residential buildings, social and cultural facilities, as well as infrastructure works. During the visit, Comrade Ramiz Alia became acquainted with the content of the projects, their functional and aesthetic concepts, as well as with the research and design directions of the institute. He գնահատed the work of the specialists, architects and designers, stressing the importance of a close link between scientific and creative thought and the concrete needs of economic and social development. The need to improve the quality of projects and solutions that better meet the demands of the time was also discussed. (To be continued on page 8)

TRENO GACA The results of work for the first four months of this year have been made known. Production and overall income indicators show growth compared with the same period last year. During this period, a series of production tasks were accomplished and exceeded, while in some sectors obstacles were also noted that require a prompt solution. At enterprise level, the volume of industrial production has increased, while the supply of raw materials and the marketing of products has been better than before. The workers and leaders of the organization have assessed that the results achieved so far are good, but not sufficient, so additional commitment is required in the coming months. At the collective meetings, the priority tasks identified were the rationalization of expenses, the increase in product quality, and the strengthening of work discipline.

VASI QESARI and ENVER BYTYÇI In every work organization and socialist self-management community, the preparations for celebrating 1 May have gained special momentum. Workers, specialists and young people are engaging so that, through concrete results, they can demonstrate their commitment to further economic and social development. In many production environments, work actions, collective meetings and cultural activities have been organized. The emphasis is being placed on the timely fulfillment of plan obligations, on improving technological discipline, and on preserving work tools. As was said in several work meetings, challenges are not lacking: shortages of certain raw materials, marketing difficulties and the need to modernize processes. Nevertheless, the workers’ will to welcome 1 May with new successes remains high.

In everyday work, in the fulfillment of tasks and in the development of social activities, civic responsibility is seen as a fundamental condition for progress. This was emphasized at the meeting of the Central Committee of BRPS, where it was assessed that young people and their organizations must be more active in social life. The discussions said that education, creative work and concrete engagement in life and work environments are the best way to strengthen social awareness. It was requested that planned activities be made concrete through practical initiatives, greater mobilization and the involvement of youth in decision-making processes. Comrade Azem Vllasi, in talks with leaders of the Albanian youth and of social organizations, stressed the need for civic responsibility to be part of everyday social action.
