The comrades and participants welcome with warmth and confidence the arrival of the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the P P S H, Comrade Ramiz Alia. Together with the comrades accompanying him, he greets the many residents who have come out to the center of the village and of the united agricultural cooperative "Asim Zeneli". Afterwards, Comrade Ramiz Alia, accompanied by Comrades Hekuran Isai, Simon Stefani, and others, visited several citrus plots on the hill of Fushëbardhësit, where the trees planted four or five years ago will in the future yield good productivity. Talking with the cooperative and farm leaders, he took a broad interest in the progress of the work and in the expansion of the areas planted with citrus, olives, and other fruit trees. In the center of Kardhiq a group of residents and pioneers offer him flowers. In his conversations with them, Comrade Ramiz Alia asks about the progress of the work, about the school, the nursery and the kindergarten, about commercial and health services, about water and electricity supply. The residents tell him about the achievements of recent years, about the major changes that have been made in the village, and about their efforts to make life more beautiful and richer. In conversation with the women and girls he emphasizes their role in the economic and social life of the village, and the importance of further raising culture and participation in administration. At the meetings with cooperative workers and young people, the discussion covered agricultural production, increasing yields, maintaining the olive groves, and seasonal tasks. It was noted that in the hilly and mountainous areas there are great possibilities for the development of livestock breeding, fruit growing and various crops. Comrade Ramiz Alia took an interest in the everyday life of the people, in new construction, in health centers, in roads and transport. In conversation with the cooperative members he pointed out the importance of better organization of work, strict observance of discipline, safeguarding socialist property and further improving well-being. In Gostimë, songs and dances thunder and resound from the people. All day and night thousands of men and women, old and young, loudly proclaim the ideals of freedom and socialism. At the center of attention is the honoring of the martyrs of the nation, of those who gave their lives for the liberation of the homeland and for the building of the new society. In this festive and commemorative atmosphere, numerous meetings, discussions and events were held. The participants expressed their determination to follow the path of the Party, to carry forward the work of socialist construction, to strengthen the unity of the people and to defend the victories achieved. The sons and daughters of the people who fell in battle were remembered with deep respect. Wreaths and flowers were laid near the monuments and the graves of the martyrs. In the speeches delivered, it was emphasized that their memory remains unforgettable and that the spirit of their sacrifice will illuminate generations. Young people took part extensively in these activities, demonstrating their bond with the country's best patriotic and revolutionary traditions. In closing, confidence was expressed that the people will remain faithful to the lofty ideals for which the martyrs fought. The songs and dances continued late into the night, giving the celebration a joyful and solemn appearance.

From Comrade Ramiz Alia's speech at the meeting with the people of Kardhiq These latter are mainly linked to the problems of livestock raising, the feed base, and the production of meat and milk. The market needs both meat and milk, so production must be increased. I am referring here not only to the needs of social consumption, but also to the needs of families. I have said before that we must love the land and use it as well as possible. Today we have done many good things, but there are still unused possibilities, especially in hills and mountains. Here we must think more about livestock breeding, about sheep and goats, about cows in those areas where there are pastures, about improving breeds, about increasing the production of wool, meat and milk. Livestock breeding requires organized work, constant care and sufficient feed. Better conditions must be created for wintering livestock and for securing the feed base. There are places where the area with fodder crops can be expanded, meadows and pastures can be improved, and local reserves can be used better. If we act wisely and persistently, these possibilities will yield good results. We need the hilly and mountainous areas to produce more too. This is important not only for the economy, but also for village life itself, for the incomes of cooperative members, for supplying the market and improving the people's diet. Everywhere the path of intensification must be sought, the use of good experience, the implementation of discipline and the increase of responsibility.
