Wreaths are laid and tributes are paid at the Martyrs of the Nation Cemetery Yesterday, on the day of 5 May, our entire people commemorated with deep respect and sorrow all the sons and daughters who gave their lives for freedom and independence, for socialism and for a new and happy Albania. At the Martyrs of the Nation Cemetery in Tirana, wreaths of flowers were laid with respect in the name of the people, the Central Committee of the PPSH, the Presidium of the People’s Assembly, the Council of Ministers, the Democratic Front, the Trade Unions, the BRPSH, the Ministry of People’s Defense, the Executive Committee of the People’s Council of the Tirana district, and other organizations. In the name of the youth, wreaths of flowers were also laid by the pioneers of the capital’s schools. During this solemn ceremony, thousands of workers and citizens of Tirana, members of mass organizations, veterans of the National Liberation War, young men and women, families of the martyrs and war invalids, paid tribute before the graves of the martyrs of the Fatherland. In the early hours of the morning, on this commemorative day, tributes and wreath-laying ceremonies were also held at martyrs’ cemeteries in different districts of the country. All salutes? [?] The ceremony was attended by comrades Ramiz Alia, Adil Çarçani, Foto Çami, Manush Myftiu, Prokop Murra, Simon Stefani, Hekuran Isai, Lenka Çuko, Muho Asllani, Spiro Koleka, Pali Miska, Haxhi Lleshi, Rita Marko and other comrades. Also present were leaders of central and local bodies, senior military officers, representatives of institutions and social organizations. During this ceremony, the Wind Orchestra of the Ministry of People’s Defense performed funeral marches and then the national anthem; thousands of voices sang together with those present the anthem of the flag and partisan songs.
