Let us begin first with ourselves
From the very first days of the start of the election campaign, lively speeches and debates are heard in all parts of the country. Not only candidates for deputies, but also many ordinary citizens meet with the voters and express their views. Especially these days, one notices not only greater liveliness, but also a heightened sense of responsibility to understand more clearly the tasks before us, to carry forward the democratization process, to overcome the many difficulties and to strengthen confidence in our path.
At meetings with the people, many concerns, grievances and reservations come to light, but also concrete proposals for improving the situation. These are understandable. Life itself has brought people face to face with numerous problems related to the economy, supply, services, housing, discipline, order, the style of leadership and the conduct of the administration. Precisely for that reason, the citizen asks for more sincerity, more accountability and more responsibility.
But alongside the criticism directed at institutions and cadres, it is becoming increasingly clear that a good part of the shortcomings also originates in each person’s own attitude toward work and society. We cannot ask that everything change for the better if we do not begin first with ourselves. This applies to the deputy and to the voter, to the leader and to the subordinate, to the worker, the peasant, the intellectual, the pupil and the student.
To begin with oneself means to work conscientiously, to respect the rules, not to damage social property, to waste no time, and not to expect everything from others. It means to look critically at one’s own conduct, to admit mistakes, to correct oneself and to help others correct themselves as well. It means renouncing indifference, the mentality that “someone else will solve it,” and endless excuses.
In this spirit, the role of the future deputy must also be understood. He is not a privileged person, but a servant of the people, a representative of their interests, a voice for the concerns and demands of the masses. The deputy must listen carefully, speak responsibly, defend what is right with perseverance, not promise impossible things and not engage in demagogy. The more honest the relationship with the people, the stronger the mutual trust will be.
Likewise, no one should see democracy as a path to disorder, disregard for the law or anarchy. Our socialist democracy calls for order, civic behavior, political culture and responsibility. Criticism is useful when it is made with constructive purpose, when it is based on facts and when it is accompanied by the willingness to contribute oneself. Freedom of speech is inseparable from the duty to tell the truth and take a correct stand.
The election campaign is a good opportunity to look at ourselves in the mirror. What have we done well? Where have we made mistakes? What must we change immediately? These questions concern everyone. If each of us does our part honestly, collective determination will bear fruit. Great changes begin with the individual, with the family, with the collective, with the workplace.
Therefore, let us begin first with ourselves.

In the settlement of M[S/T?]-2, a good example of work organization was given, which was praised by the residents. The cleaning of the surroundings, the repair of the alleys, the water supply and the readiness of the volunteer brigades were discussed. It was emphasized that in these days greater discipline and a stronger spirit of cooperation are required between the neighborhood committees and the municipal enterprises.
On the other hand, shortcomings were also pointed out that hinder the progress of work: delays in supply, lack of equipment, lack of coordination between sectors and the need for more frequent control. The speakers called for work not to remain at the level of calls alone, but to be transformed into daily action, with clear tasks and defined responsibilities.

Working by the hour
- DURRËS
These days the end of the spring period is approaching, and in many sectors of the economy a better coordination of work is becoming a necessity. In Durrës, a meeting was held with representatives of production enterprises, transport and trade in order to place the pace of supply, the circulation of goods and the avoidance of unnecessary losses at the center of attention.
The speakers stressed that cooperation should not be limited to letters and phone calls, but should be measured in hours, in concrete results and in mutual responsibilities. Examples were given of cases in which a small delay in delivery had caused chain disruptions in production units. For this reason, it was requested that daily and weekly plans be better harmonized and information circulate more quickly.
The discussion also raised problems of a lack of transport vehicles, the wear and tear of some equipment, and the need to use fuel and auxiliary materials more sparingly. It was emphasized that only through discipline and control can the gaps that create difficulties for the consumer be avoided.
Participants proposed the creation of small operational groups to follow daily the links between production, storage and distribution. In conclusion, it was assigned that each entity should precisely define the responsible persons and deadlines, so that cooperation does not remain formal.

A new liveliness has come to the village
Reported from Luznia of Dibra
In the villages of Dibra, greater movement can be seen in seasonal work and in the organization of daily life. Our correspondents report from Luznia of Dibra that the residents are more actively engaged in leveling the fields, cleaning the irrigation canals, late planting and caring for livestock.
At the center of the discussions is not only production, but also the improvement of living conditions: roads, drinking water, trade services, the school and the clinic. The residents ask for more order and more attention to the village’s concerns, while on the other hand they express their readiness to contribute themselves through voluntary work.
In some neighborhoods, actions have been organized to repair fences, tidy courtyards and add greenery. A greater participation of young people and women was noted, as they are taking on concrete tasks. The village elders recall that when there is unity and good leadership, work moves faster and the results are seen immediately.
However, difficulties are not lacking: there are shortages of materials, equipment and tools, as well as complaints about delays in supply. Representatives of the agricultural cooperative admit that there is room for improvement in organization and in the link with the district center.
The new liveliness that has entered the village is seen as a sign of hope, but it must be supported by concrete measures, discipline and greater care for the word given.
50 percent of the combine harvesters are ready
- LUSHNJE
The combine harvesters that will soon be moving into the harvest are being prepared at agricultural enterprises and mechanical stations. In the district of Lushnje, according to the latest data, around 50 percent of the combines are ready for the season, while work is being carried out intensively on the rest for overhaul, technical trials and the securing of spare parts.
Specialists reported that the main difficulties are related to shortages of certain units and to the wear and tear of old machines, but the repair brigades are working at a high pace to finish as soon as possible. Alongside the technical preparation, training is also being provided for the mechanizers in the most rational use of the equipment during the harvest campaign.
At the meeting held on this issue, it was requested that not a single day be lost and that control over the quality of the overhaul be strengthened. It was emphasized that the success of the harvest is served not only by the readiness of the machinery, but also by the good organization of supply with fuel, oils, sacks and other auxiliary materials.
Some farms presented their experience in the shift-based use of combines and in the creation of mobile technical service groups. This is expected to help reduce interruptions and increase yields during peak days.
