LET US FULLY EXPLOIT THE GREAT INTELLECTUAL POTENTIAL

The director of the Center for the Development of Science and Technology at the Academy of Sciences of the RPS of Albania, Prof. Sotir Kola, in an interview for our newspaper, points out that without the implementation of the technical-scientific revolution there can be no true progress for our society. At the same time he emphasizes that our country is expanding its contacts with contemporary experience. Speaking about the successes of recent years, he underlines that new specialists are being trained, creativity is being encouraged, and greater effectiveness in scientific work is being sought. He also points to the need for better organization, for closer links between science and production, and for the creative assimilation of the achievements of world science. According to him, the conditions created require that the country's great intellectual potential be properly valued and activated in all spheres of social life. The interview also addresses the problems of reforming scientific research work, strengthening the material base, and the need for every institution to have clearer objectives. In this framework he expresses his conviction that our country has the possibility to move forward at a faster pace. (ATSH)
