Liberal attitudes that damage people’s health

Prompted by a fatal abortion for nursing medicine — These days, in the municipality of — autofrenarëve pune? three excesses have been recorded. In two maternal-health clinics in the peripheral suburbs, due to the incompetence of the health staff, the life of a woman in childbirth was extinguished. A serious case, which shook both the law-enforcement bodies and the entire public opinion of the municipality of Prishtina. In one case, at the maternal-health clinic in the peripheral suburb of Podujeva(?), the young mother suffered a hemorrhage and died. She had had an abortion. With the help of the anesthetist present, but without the necessary medical care, her condition worsened. In another case, at the Lipjan(?) ambulance clinic, another woman also died. In both cases, serious omissions and a liberal attitude by the responsible doctors were established. As emerges from the assessments of the competent bodies, the trigger for these tragedies was an irregular abortion, carried out without a full examination. Instead of careful treatment, the patients were left to fate. The doctors and other staff did not react in time, did not ensure the necessary transport, nor even the basic means for intervention. These omissions constitute a serious violation of medical ethics and professional duty. In the municipality, the issue has been raised of the responsibility of the directors of the relevant institutions and of supervision of work in clinics and medical centers. The competent bodies are conducting a full investigation of the case and determining the measures to be taken. It is demanded that liberal attitudes toward people’s health not be tolerated, especially when they lead to irreparable consequences. (Continues on page 7) General view of the vineyard plant [?].

So that the holiday peak becomes a period of enjoyment

OUR INTERVIEW So that the holiday peak becomes a period of enjoyment By AVDO BOJHARI Are the conditions for summer holidays being prepared in time? In our tourist centers, holiday resorts and along the coast, citizens expect order, cleanliness, better supplies and reasonable prices. A holiday should be a period of enjoyment, not a source of new worries. — This summer, efforts must be made to make services more organized. In many cases in previous years, holidaymakers faced water shortages, power cuts, transport delays and limited food offerings. These weaknesses must not be repeated. — The local authority and tourism organizations must coordinate their work to ensure a better reception for guests. There must be regular control over hygiene, prices and the quality of services. Holidaymakers do not pay for promises, but for concrete conditions. — Only in this way can the holiday peak turn into a period of enjoyment and not into a season of dissatisfaction. AVDU BOJHARI

Notice after notice

(From photo: N. Xhika) (General view of the new vineyard plant.) In advertising, in recent times successive notices have been causing confusion among readers. Instead of the news being clear, notices about changes and suspensions often appear without sufficient explanation. Citizens complain that they cannot understand all the decisions, especially those relating to public services, transport and supply. In some cases, notices are issued without a precise date, without a signature or without a stamp, raising doubts about their seriousness. There are also cases where one notice is contradicted by another a few days later. This situation serves neither the institutions nor the citizens. It remains the duty of the responsible bodies to draft notices clearly, completely and on time. Only in this way can the public be properly informed and misunderstandings avoided.
