THE YELLOW SEASON, TRADE FACING NEW TASKS
Practical figures - investment; something that is often lacking
— Traveling from the border on the threshold of this summer —
In these hot days that began around the middle of June, one sees and feels everywhere that summer has arrived, also in our everyday life and in the work of trade. People expect to find everything they need for the warm season, for rest, for movement, for a lighter and more pleasant life.
But, as often happens, expectations and possibilities do not match. In many shops, especially those selling mass consumer goods, shortages are noticeable, while demand keeps rising. Trade can no longer rely on old excuses. It must respond in time, ensure better and more regular supply, and look further ahead than a single day or a single week.
Citizens complain about delays in the arrival of seasonal items, about the lack of light clothing, summer shoes, beach equipment, children’s goods, and food products that are in greater demand in the heat. Some shelves look poor, while in other places items arrive in bursts, not at a normal commercial pace.
This is not only a question of quantity, but also of organization. If it is known that summer brings increased circulation, then every link in the trade chain must move faster: ordering, transport, storage, distribution, display. It is not enough to say that the goods have been sent; they must be where the buyer needs them, at the right time.
Quality also matters. Today the buyer is not satisfied with just any goods, especially when paying with difficulty. Items must be usable, well presented, and reasonably priced. Otherwise dissatisfaction is created, goods remain in warehouses, while precisely those items most in demand are lacking.
Our trade is facing new tasks. It must show more initiative, stronger ties with domestic production, closer monitoring of the market and seasonal movements. This is the time when not only the ability to distribute goods is measured, but also responsibility toward the citizen.
After all, summer does not forgive delays. It sets its own pace. And if trade does not adapt to this pace, the gap is immediately felt in everyday life. Therefore, figures must be turned into practice, while investment in organization must bring tangible results for the consumer.
Why did agricultural produce not reach the city market?
— The cooperative market and the village market there were somewhat filled with fruit and vegetables. This is about Gjakovë, whose market usually on every Thursday offered seasonal produce and goods for citizens. However, yesterday not only was the supply small, but it was almost absent.
It is noticeable that this is felt most strongly by the city’s households. Citizens rightly ask why the agricultural products of cooperative and private economies did not reach the market in the proper amount. It is believed that one of the reasons is linked to the poor organization of collection and transport, as well as the lack of stronger incentives for producers.
At a time when the season is entering its most demanding phase for fresh fruit and vegetables, such a situation cannot be justified. The city market remains the most natural meeting place between producer and consumer, and therefore it must be supplied regularly.
Citizens expect the responsible bodies to clarify the causes and take measures so that the market does not remain empty in the coming days.
Achievements of the farms of Gramsh
On their farm they have long experience and tradition in livestock breeding. The workers of this area are known for their care of the herd and for improving production. During this period good results have been recorded in increasing yields and in the breeding of livestock.
Measures have been taken to improve the feed base, for breed selection and for veterinary discipline. These achievements, it is emphasized, are linked to dedication at work and to the better organization of the farm.
It is expected that the results will be maintained in the coming months.
Organization according to outdated practices
The hot rush also requires conditions, rules and faster solutions. In many cases, old procedures slow down the work and create difficulties where immediate action is needed. This is especially noticeable in the distribution of goods, in their arrangement and in the daily supply of sales points.
It is not enough merely to note that there are items; one must also see in what way they reach the consumer. Outdated practices, excessive forms, and unnecessary links often leave warehouses full while shelves remain empty. In an economy that demands responsibility and efficiency, these obstacles must be overcome.
A simpler but more efficient organization is required; stronger links between producer, transport and trade; as well as clear responsibility for every delay or failure. Every hour lost in the season turns into dissatisfaction for the citizen.
Therefore, reliance on outdated practices cannot continue. Concrete decisions and daily implementation are needed.

THE PEAK OF THE CAMPAIGN, THE MINIMUM OF FUEL
OBSERVATION
These days, Asqer Hoxha of the agricultural cooperative of Priska, after an inspection at the motor pool station, asked to know where the fuel tankers had been left. “The day may come,” he said, “when work in the fields will be interrupted, not because of a lack of labor, but because of a lack of fuel.”
The problem of fuel supply at the peak of the campaign has taken on special importance. In some areas agricultural machinery works intermittently, while the leaders of the units complain that the amount they are given is not enough even for the most urgent needs.
If this situation continues, the consequences may be felt in the pace of seasonal work. It is necessary for distribution to be made with priority for the most urgent tasks and for administrative delays that weigh on production to be avoided.
