Because of the growing consumer demand for light textile material, the workers of the Clothing Production Enterprise have taken measures to increase the variety and quality of products. Meanwhile, in these days, shortcomings have also been observed in distribution and in the supply of shops. These problems became the subject of discussion in a meeting organized with representatives of trade and production. It was requested that the articles be distributed properly and that delays be avoided. According to the notice, there were temporary shortages in some shopping centers, which caused dissatisfaction among buyers. (Continues on page 2)

- In the agricultural enterprise "Çlirimi" and 426 cooperatives in the Fier district have achieved higher yields. The long line of combine harvesters belonging to the cooperativists of the Agricultural Enterprise "Çlirimi" in the Fier district has been working for several days in the new wheat plots. The work has gone well, bringing the average yield of this crop to 40 quintals per hectare. Of the 1,000 quintals of deliveries that this agricultural enterprise is obliged to hand over to the state, this commitment is progressing well. It was fulfilled in the first 10 days of the harvest. In the forestry sector, 850 tons of hay are being collected. The alfalfa plantings closed at more than 15 quintals per hectare. All this created basis allows the achievements of the Fier cooperativists and the united cooperatives of the district to make broad and effective use of the new economic mechanism. The leaders of this economy, under the care of the committee and the united council, have devoted special attention to the precise implementation of the recruitment program, the improvement of work organization and the achievement of high production rates. Over the three decades, investments for irrigation have increased, drainage lines have been improved and the material-technical base has been better utilized. In the mechanics sector, measures have been taken to put equipment into efficient operation and to avoid grain losses. Among other things, work is under way to base pay on norms and output, in order to increase the material interest of the cooperativists. These measures are also being accompanied by increased quality control and technological discipline. This is helping work proceed in an orderly manner and results to be strengthened. In many plots yields are satisfactory and planning for deliveries to the state has got off to a good start. Alongside wheat, other agricultural and livestock crops are also being monitored. Overall, the indicators for the season are better than a year ago. (Continues on page 4)

The focus has been placed on the effective use of land, the increase in agricultural production and the improvement of living conditions in the countryside. In this context, a photo exhibition and illustrative stands were also opened in the center of the town. They display the results of the work of agricultural enterprises, cooperatives and socio-cultural facilities. According to the organizers, the exhibition aims to encourage discussion of the best experiences and their dissemination on a district-wide scale.

Teachers pay special attention to working with weak students, as well as to activating the whole class. Measures have been taken to enrich the work corners, didactic materials and extracurricular activities. In discussions with parents, problems of attendance and home preparation were also addressed. This working climate has helped many students achieve better results. At the end of the school year, several classes stood out for good progress and active participation in educational activities.
