Renewal in Party work is what is demanded today
Success and the issues depend on the implementation of decisions. This is the only way to move forward, to improve the situation, to win people's trust. In the many discussions and analyses being carried out, it is stressed that the Party must be closer to the grassroots, more open and more responsible. It is demanded that Party organizations work differently, in a democratic spirit, with debate and accountability. Without these there can be no real improvement. Bureaucratism must be fought, formalities abandoned and people listened to more. In many workplaces and in the countryside there are major concerns about supply, discipline, order and the outlook. If the Party does not set an example and does not react in time, it loses authority. This is the demand of the time. It is also demanded that cadres be judged by their work and moral conduct, not by words. There must be renewal in the style of leadership, in the way of communicating with the people, in dealing with criticism and differing opinions. Only in this way will the role of the Party be strengthened and the trust of the masses restored. (Continued on page 2)

We present some of the views of workers and specialists who are expressing themselves in this process of great political importance. We must be more demanding and more responsible, says one of them, because the candidate must be a person with authority, with a clean moral and political standing, connected to the people and able to represent their interests. Others emphasize that people with culture, experience and a high sense of responsibility toward the people must be chosen. There are also opinions that call for better respect for the representation of workers, peasants, women and youth. At the center of attention remains the fact that the candidacy should be the fruit of the free will of the voters. (Continued on page 2)
