Comrade Ramiz Alia received the president of the Italian firm «Latteria», Rafaelo Falan
The Chairman of the Presidium of the People's Assembly of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania and chairman of the PPSSH, Comrade Ramiz Alia, yesterday received at the seat of the Presidium of the People's Assembly the president of the Italian firm «Latteria», Mr. Rafaelo Falan, who is in our country at the invitation of the Council of Ministers of the RPSSH.
During the meeting, Comrade Ramiz Alia appreciated the existing relations with the firm «Latteria», which has built several economic facilities in our country. He stressed that these relations could be further expanded in the future, including other areas of mutual interest.
In particular, Comrade Ramiz Alia noted that relations between Albania and Italy have traditionally been good, but what has been important is that they have developed on the basis of the principles of mutual respect, equality, and non-interference in internal affairs. It is also important, he said, that these relations continued despite the changes that have taken place in developments in Italy and in our country. Expressing satisfaction with the good development of relations between the two countries, Comrade Ramiz Alia underlined that we are interested in seeing them develop further, based on mutual interests and good-neighborly relations.
Thanking Comrade Ramiz Alia for the reception, Mr. Rafaelo Falan said that relations between Italy and Albania have always been very good, expressing his conviction that they will continue to develop further in the future. He also expressed satisfaction with the relations of the firm «Latteria» with our country and valued the Albanian side's commitment to the successful completion of the economic facilities built by it, adding that this experience is also serving it in the cooperative relations it is developing with other partners. He underlined that in this framework, cooperation in the future for the modernization of existing enterprises is also of interest.
Also present at the reception was the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Reis Malile.
Candidacies approved

Last night, at the general meeting of the citizens of local community no. 18 of Kadriut i Vjetër in Prizren, 127 delegates were approved and the following were proposed as candidates for deputies in both chambers of the Assembly of Kosovo: for the United Workers' Council: Dr. Jonuz Osmanaj, specialist physician from Prizren; Gani Gashi, agronomist from Tërpeza in Vitia; and Ruzhdi Hoxha, mason from Hoça e Vogël in Rahovec. For the Council of Municipalities, the proposed candidates were: Nazif Gashi, chairman of the Municipal Committee of the LKK in Rahovec; Ahmet Qaqi, an official of the SPB in Prizren; and Agim Jashari, auto mechanic from Zhuri in Prizren. In a secret ballot and by majority vote, the candidates elected for deputy in the Council of Municipalities were Nazif Gashi and Ahmet Qaqi, and for the United Workers' Council Dr. Jonuz Osmanaj and Gani Gashi.
Late in the evening in Prizren, a meeting of electors was also held for candidates for deputies in the Assembly of Kosovo and in the Assembly of Serbia, where the candidacies proposed by various organizations of the city were confirmed. Of the 300 electors at the meeting, 267 were present. Dr. Isuf Zejnullahu from Mamusha was elected as candidate for the United Workers' Chamber of the Assembly of Kosovo, while Dervish Rozhaja was elected to the Council of Municipalities; Nazif Gashi to the Council of Municipalities of the Assembly of Serbia; and Prof. Dr. Zenel Kastrati to the United Workers' Chamber of the Assembly of Serbia. In Prishtina, in the hall of the Socio-Political Community, the previous evening, before more than 500 citizens of this community, namely before 90 delegates who decided on the candidates for deputies to the Assembly of Kosovo, the earlier candidacies were approved. The leaders of the meeting announced that the candidates proposed for the Assembly of Kosovo are: Dr. Ahmet Haxhiu for the United Workers' Chamber and Dr. Fehmi Agani for the Council of Municipalities. The candidacies were put forward by the socio-political and other organizations of Prishtina.
Strengthening among the voters

May there be no activity in the local communities of the country for the nomination of delegates for the first multiparty elections. The Municipal Commission for the implementation of the law on the election and recall of delegates to the Assembly of Kosovo and the municipal assemblies of the municipality of Vitia, yesterday in Gjilan, held a meeting with the heads of the local community bodies, where a preparatory analysis was made for the selection of candidates. Among other things, it was said that the election gatherings should be as large as possible, so that citizens can freely express their will. In this municipality, the deadline for candidacies is the 15th of this month. So far, several candidacies have been submitted for the future relations of local government.
Reciprocity in the legitimacy of our meetings

In one of the «Naim Frashëri» neighborhoods of Vuthëvezë, a voters' meeting was held, where in the town of Bërdica there had been major disagreements in one settlement about where the electors should be chosen. Recently, understanding has been reached there and candidates for deputies in both chambers of the People's Assembly were selected. According to a notice sent by our correspondent, at this meeting the candidacy of Qemal Pjetrushi for the United Workers' Chamber and of Maksim Beci for the Council of Municipalities was proposed and approved. The meeting stressed the importance of a calm campaign and the free participation of citizens in the electoral process.

Yesterday morning, in the reception villa in Pogradec, the Prime Minister of our country, Comrade Adil Çarçani, received the economic-trade delegation of the government of the Soviet Union, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for Economic Relations with Foreign Countries, Comrade Oleg F. Sistolov. The talks addressed issues of economic cooperation between the two countries and the possibilities for expanding it into areas of mutual interest. The existing relations were assessed and readiness was expressed to continue reciprocal contacts.

Yesterday afternoon in Tirana, in the ministry premises, the meeting was held between our country's Foreign Minister and the Soviet Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs. During the talks, the need to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries was emphasized and concrete ways to expand cooperation were discussed. At this meeting, several candidates were proposed and approved for the local representative bodies.
