LET US DEVOTE OURSELVES TO WORK HONESTLY
At yesterday’s meeting of the Presidency of the Provincial People’s Council of Kosovo, the work carried out so far by the branches of the provincial bodies and their organizational structures was analyzed. It was emphasized that with the transfer of the competencies of the republican and federal bodies to the provincial bodies, a new situation has been created for the functioning of the bodies and organizations, one that calls for greater commitment, responsibility and honest work. It was said that the tasks are large and complex, but that with broad mobilization they can be fulfilled. The discussion highlighted activities in administration, internal affairs bodies, health care, education, the economy and other fields of social life.
It was requested that every worker and office-holder keep in mind the general social interest, respect for legality, discipline at work and personal responsibility. It was assessed that in the present circumstances it is necessary to strengthen unity of action and eliminate irresponsible conduct, improvisations and attitudes that run counter to the norms of the legal order.
The meeting also discussed current economic issues, supply, the protection of social property and the need for thrift. It was said that results will depend on each person’s commitment, better organization and respect for decisions. It was underlined that the times demand conscientious work and that only in this way can difficulties be overcome.
Everyone has it in their hands to stabilize the situation
At yesterday’s session of the Provincial Collegium, current tasks and each social entity’s responsibility in stabilizing the situation were discussed. It was assessed that only through organized work, respect for decisions and everyone’s commitment can the situation be improved.
The need to maintain order, strengthen discipline and overcome obstacles in the economy and in everyday life was emphasized. It was said that citizens, organizations and institutions must make their contribution to overall stability.
The international situation is being examined
At the Council of Ministers
At a special meeting, the Council of Ministers examined the latest international developments and the consequences they might have for the country. The situation in the region, the tensions that have arisen and the need for vigilance were discussed. In this context, measures were taken to monitor the situation and coordinate the actions of the competent institutions.
It was said that Albania is closely following international events and defending its national and state interests. The importance of preserving peace and stability was underlined, as well as the need for the country to be prepared for any development.
The Presidency of the General Council of the Democratic Front of Albania met
On 18 January 1991, in Tirana, the Presidency of the General Council of the Democratic Front of Albania met. The meeting discussed the current situation in the country, the tasks arising in today’s conditions and the organization’s role in citizen mobilization. It was assessed that the Democratic Front should increase its activity and help more in solving the problems that concern the people.
The participants stressed the importance of unity, dialogue and responsible action. The Front’s structures were asked to be closer to the people, to listen to their concerns and to contribute to strengthening order and social calm.
