LET US TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR WORK

Yesterday, our correspondent put a question to an ambassador of a foreign country in Tirana, but he declined to express his views on the discussions in our country. This time, what was most surprising was not the lack of comment, but the explanation he gave. Earlier, something similar had happened with the ambassador of a Western country. So each one is doing his own calculations. This represents a new situation in Albania’s relations with the outside world. Naturally, we must understand it properly and assess it calmly. In the article we publish today on the front page, there is no place for polemics, but rather for a realistic look at the situation we are in and how we should act. If we look at these events calmly, it becomes clear that a process loaded with contradictions is unfolding in our country. There are many opinions and positions. But in the end, the solution will come only from us, from our ability to maintain order, strengthen the economic life and not let the country move toward chaos. In such a time, nothing is gained with empty slogans, haste or illusions. It is won through work, responsibility and political clarity. The Party and the state are taking measures. Efforts are being made to preserve normality, overcome difficulties and hear people’s opinions. However, this is not enough if each one does not do their part. Work does not move with words, but with actions. Nor is it solved by confusion, distrust, or the tendency to look for salvation in others. Albania must find strength within itself. From this point of view, it is important that responsibility be increased in every sector. Work better, defend the country’s interests, do not damage common property, and do not create artificial obstacles in production and supply. We are in a moment when calm and prudence are as necessary as determination. People expect direction, but also example. They expect clear words and clear deeds. It is time to take responsibility for our work, each in our own place, with a cool head and a high civic sense of responsibility.

The administration should demand more from itself

PËRMET — In the offices of the economy, greater order, speed and responsibility are being sought in solving citizens’ problems. Employees have been instructed to be closer to the people and to avoid unnecessary delays. In particular, the need to improve daily services and increase communication with the grassroots has been emphasized. The latest inspection shows that some sectors have worked better, but in others shortcomings remain related to documentation, discipline and following tasks through to the end. For this reason, the administration has been asked to demand more from itself, to work with culture and with a higher sense of responsibility.

Strengthening activity in youth work

In the basic organizations, the expansion of work with young people and women, the strengthening of ties with the masses and the increase of responsibility in carrying out tasks are being closely examined. At the latest meetings, more concreteness, more creative thinking and greater initiative in solving problems were called for. Likewise, the importance of civic education, preserving calm and a more mature attitude toward developments was emphasized. In this framework, activity will focus more strongly on direct contact with people and on addressing the links that hinder the normal progress of work.
