A new wave: should we get vegetables from imports?!
Tekeqim Vëmsendjen
Last year, to ensure leafy greens, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, eggplants, melons, etc. and many other fresh products in the winter season, we cultivated them in protected environments. But this winter, despite many statements that the market’s needs will be met through the import of most vegetables, people are seeing them very rarely on the shelves of shops and in the markets. In these circumstances, with spring just around the corner, the question arises: will seeds, fertilizers, fuel and other materials be secured in time so that we are not again short of fresh vegetables?
Field reports show that the situation is by no means satisfactory. For many greenhouses and plastic tunnels it is still not known whether they will be put into use. Some lack materials, others need repairs. In many cases, agricultural enterprises and cooperatives have not yet determined the areas, crops and quantities to be planted. There are also those who are waiting for a solution from imports. But imports cannot replace domestic production.
Many agricultural specialists believe that if the opportunities we have are carefully used, with better organization of work and timely supplies, the production of early vegetables could increase significantly. This requires greater responsibility from the relevant bodies and stronger control over the implementation of duties.

We saw [?] exploitation, the course of conditions and the market, but also the need to increase production. In these conditions there can be no well-being without work, productivity and discipline. Only through serious commitment from all collectives can difficulties be overcome and greater incomes created.

With sweat and not with words
The decision to make the best use of our reserves and increase production requires more work and fewer words. This is demonstrated by the results achieved by various collectives, which through dedication have increased production, reduced losses and created greater incomes.

In the Korça plant [?] so far the production plan for over 300 tons of manufacturing has been achieved. The amount produced will be used for the needs of the domestic market.

DURING THESE DAYS IN MOKËR
Chronicle
Who feels the Mokër resident’s hardship today is himself in hardship
What is this tax burden, who killed mine and nobody remembers. Not one gram, but two grams of exile has been taken from the village. But who still comes to the village, when the road is broken and the electricity goes off whenever it wants. In the men's rooms they talk about the day's problems and shortages, about the little grain, the low incomes and the boys who no longer see a future in their birthplace.
Not only the elderly, but also the young look at promises with suspicion. There is a general weariness and disregard for empty words. In this region with traditions of work and endurance, people want concrete solutions: roads, markets, supplies, tools for work.
