APPEAL TO PATRIOTIC CONSCIENCE
Certain recent developments in our country, driven and encouraged by specific foreign circles hostile to socialist Albania and to our people, politically blinded and malicious, are trying to undermine the independence and constitutional order of our country. In particular, in these days, attempts are being made to unlawfully remove Albanian citizens outside the homeland. These actions constitute a serious violation of the country's laws and of international norms. The Albanian people, closely bound to their homeland, to freedom, independence and national sovereignty, cannot agree with any action that affects the interests of the country. We call on all citizens to preserve calm, show composure and not fall prey to hostile incitement. Everyone must contribute to order, peace and the continuation of normal life in the country. The security forces and state organs are taking all measures to guarantee constitutional order and the safety of citizens. Anyone who breaks the law will be held accountable according to the laws in force. At this moment, more than ever, patriotic conscience, unity and civic responsibility are required. Albania will move forward on its independent and sovereign path.
