“In general?” In order to bring production out of the factories and plants as quickly as possible, in the conditions of the breaking of traditional ties with the outside world, the foremost task is to rely as much as possible on domestic raw materials. This was illustrated by a concrete example by Arben Mema, head of the industrial porcelain processing enterprise. The issue is that those producers are in the best position who make the best use of reserves and domestic resources. This was the conclusion reached from the survey carried out among communists and non-communists, organized in the enterprise, by the ceramics engineer, Vladimir Kocani. According to him, many things would have gone better if useless positions had not been taken in the forum and attitudes toward specialists had not been adopted there, since they were asked for more than their due, but not to replace the governing bodies. While they were engaged in clarifying figures and in economic analyses, technical specialists, according to Kocani, must also reveal leadership abilities. “Our level of management,” he said, “is such that without the support of specialists, many things will remain pending.” For their part, technical specialists have the duty, as in the past, not only to put forward ideas and solutions, but also to immerse themselves in their implementation. In the program “For a state ruled by law,” yesterday morning I was following the speech of Mr. Aleksandër Meksi. We ourselves are in such a moment, Meksi said, that there is no reason for us to deal with one another. His opinion, I think, would also have been mine, if by chance the live broadcast had not been interrupted at that moment. This has now become routine for TVSH. Since that is the situation, I consider it necessary to say a few words. At least in writing. Let us no longer hinder one another. On the contrary, let us walk side by side, even if we belong to different parties. In this way life would move more smoothly in Albania. I had just come from the elections of 31 March. In every polling center I went to and in every encounter with people, I clearly felt the desire not to create artificial obstacles for one another. Everyone wants to live better, work better, and be calmer. In this sense, no one gains from tension, insults, or baseless suspicions. Understanding and responsibility are needed. POLITICAL ANTIFASCISTS On Tuesday afternoon, in the premises of the “Ali Kelmendi” enterprise, a meeting was held between the activists of the Party of Tirana and members and sympathizers of the PPSH. The meeting was opened by the first secretary of the District Party Committee, Ali Kelmendi[?], who spoke about the necessity of implementing the PPSH electoral program responsibly in the current conditions. It was said that good words about the program are not enough; concrete actions are also needed in the economy, in supply, in work discipline, and in increasing production. At the meeting, the need to strengthen political work with the masses was discussed, in order to explain the party’s line correctly and to face difficulties. The importance of cooperation with specialists, cadres, and all honest workers was also emphasized. In our country, the consequences of the disorders created in the economy and in everyday life are being felt clearly. But there are clear signs that many people are seriously returning to work. In factories, in cooperatives, and in services, the pace is improving. There are still difficulties with supplies, with energy, and with transport, but daily work is the only way out of this situation.
