THE DAYS OF OPPOSITION[?]

We have recommended denouncing lies and manipulation also through my many years of work as a journalist at "Rilindja". In yesterday’s issue of our newspaper I published a letter written to the Editorial Office of "Rilindja" by a group of our comrades from the MPA of Prizren, in which a detailed analysis is made of the anti-socialist and anti-revolutionary activity of the so-called Independent Trade Union of Kosovo. I considered that these comrades should also be given the floor, since the remarks they make about the delegation of this union are objective, because they have been made by the very environment in which the delegates operate. But before publishing this letter, I called the number left by the signatories to ask for clarification regarding some minor inconsistencies that seemed unclear to me. I was struck by the conversation with a professor from this school, who, apart from not denying authorship of the letter, also told me that he had consulted the text with several other colleagues. This convinced me even more that their reaction was genuine and should be published. After the newspaper came out, instead of a measured and well-argued debate, threatening phone calls and attempts began to present the reaction as imposed. This only reinforces the conviction that there is an organized attempt to replace the truth with pressure and intimidation. Anyone who thinks differently is declared an enemy; anyone who raises questions about the outbreak of nationalism is branded an opponent of the people. This is the dangerous path of political manipulation. Comrade Ramiz Alia, at the reception with the delegation, emphasized the need for dialogue and for calming the situation. This guidance is correct. However, dialogue cannot be built on distortion of the facts. There can be no understanding if the many sacrifices of the Albanian people of Kosovo are deliberately ignored and their difficult position is kept silent about. Likewise, no one can be granted amnesty for inciting hostility and interethnic conflicts. Those who today present themselves as representatives of workers must also account for the means they use, for the slogans they issue and for the support they seek. If the union wants to be the true voice of the working class, it must openly distance itself from all those who use it for political and anti-Albanian purposes. Otherwise, it will remain an instrument in the hands of those who want to divide our people. In this sense, opposition to lies is neither revenge nor denial of dialogue. It is the first condition for building trust. For this reason, we will continue to publish reactions, opinions and testimonies that serve the truth and the interests of the workers and of the Albanian people of Kosovo.

About the events in the town of Skender and Skodres[?]

About the events in the town of Skodres[?] A meeting was held with the United Council, the first secretary of the Party Committee for the district, and the chairman of the Executive Committee of the People’s Council. At the meeting, an analysis was made of the situation that had arisen, the actions of hooligan elements were condemned, and measures were taken to restore order and calm. The need for vigilance and for the protection of public property was emphasized. The people were called upon to remain calm and not fall prey to provocations. The highest state and party bodies have been informed about the situation. Work groups have gone to the scene to help normalize the situation and to inform the population. According to initial data, the material damage is considerable, but measures are being taken to repair it as quickly as possible. (Continues on page 4)

Answer: "May a crowbar and others’ eye be thrown"

Who sows the tear! Sows the tear and propaganda, o vol[?] Written by: Shkryqi Neka[?] ... and once he never opened his own eyes. He sees others with one eye closed and the other darkened by propaganda. Thus, instead of argument, shouts are offered; instead of truth, slander; instead of responsibility, moralizing poses. Those who try to speak in the name of the people are in fact speaking only in the name of their own narrow interest. In this climate, even tears are used as political decoration. They are sold as pain, but serve as an alibi to hide responsibility. This is why our citizens must be careful of every pathetic phrase and of every attempt to deceive them with grand words.
