Speeding up the work is not done by nervousness

Yesterday in the People's Assembly - FROM OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENTS - Yesterday's session also saw another stage of debate, with speeches by one deputy after another, with objections, with interventions from the floor, with rebuttals and counter-rebuttals, with votes, and with warnings. In the chamber there was a prevailing concern about the way the proceedings were being conducted and about the slow pace of their progress. In the morning part of the sitting, many interventions were noted regarding procedure, the agenda, and previous votes. Various deputies expressed dissatisfaction with the dragging out of the discussions and called for the Assembly to move as quickly as possible to the examination of the main issues. On the other hand, calm and observance of the rules were called for. A sense of tension was felt in the hall, but also a desire that the work should not be obstructed. At one point remarks were made about nervousness and inappropriate tones in the debate, stressing that speeding up the proceedings is not achieved through irritation, but through responsibility. There was also discussion of the order of the items on the agenda and of the need for decisions to be taken after careful consideration. Other deputies called for no time to be wasted on endless procedures. The sitting continued with brief interruptions and communications from its leaders. In the end, it was implied that the work would continue with other important matters for the political life of the country. PPSH deputies waiting for the start between sessions. EMINA LIQUNI

SHOPTAVRISH[T][?]

SHOPTAVRISHT After a careful examination of the entire mosaic of terms or different words for this era, it becomes clear that this is not about a real assembly, but about an artificial meeting, held under pressure and with a specific political aim. The author then goes on to reflect on the meaning of the word, its use, and the emotional charge it carries in the polemics of the time. He observes that concepts are often used carelessly, creating misunderstandings and drawing attention away from the main problem. Instead of bringing a solution, they bring confusion. For this reason, clarity and responsibility in the use of public language are called for.

The good from work

In these difficult days for the country, when political events have taken center stage in public attention, it must not be forgotten that everyday life goes on and that its improvement depends above all on work. In the city and in the countryside, in the factory and in the cooperative, in the office and in the school, dedication to duty remains the only way to cope with difficulties. There are plenty of people who work honestly and quietly. Their example should be valued. Not everything can be expected from political decisions if responsibility is lacking in the workplace. Only organized, disciplined and honest work can bring tangible benefits to the family and to society. Whoever wants change must begin with themselves, with their own daily work.

About the events in Lezhë and Shkodër

Interview given to Mëngjesi 2001 by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Gramoz Ruçi (continued on page 2) On 25 April 1991, around 12:00, a group of people with strongly hostile attitudes toward power and public order organized and carried out an illegal demonstration in the city of Shkodër. Under the pretext of attending the funeral ceremony of the 4 people killed in this city, this group gathered in front of the PPSH Committee and there delivered speeches with harsh political tones. The crowd then moved through the city streets, shouting slogans and striking buildings and state symbols. The law-enforcement authorities had to intervene to prevent the situation from escalating. In the course of the events there were also injured and damage. The Minister of Internal Affairs states that measures are being taken to fully clarify the circumstances and to identify the organizers of these actions. He stresses that public order will be defended and that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
