The Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ramiz Alia, presented to the People's Assembly the candidacy of Fatos Nano for Chairman of the Council of Ministers. In his speech he stressed that the country is going through a difficult economic and political situation and requires a high level of state responsibility. The need for cooperation, stability, and the continuation of democratic reforms was emphasized.
In the deputies’ discussions, the necessity of forming the new government as soon as possible was raised, so as to ensure bread, electricity, raw materials, and the normal functioning of the economy. It was demanded that the government program be based on legality, the preservation of order, the protection of production, and the expansion of political dialogue.
[?] deputies stressed that the new government must firmly confront the serious social situation, shortages in the market, and the decline in discipline in enterprises. It was also demanded that the democratization process be deepened and that state institutions be strengthened.
In conclusion, the People's Assembly examined the proposal and continued discussions on the composition and tasks of the new government.

In his interview he addressed issues related to political developments, the economic situation, and the country's prospects under pluralism.
He stated that despite many difficulties, Albania has the opportunity to emerge from the crisis if the political forces show responsibility, moderation, and willingness to cooperate. According to him, opening a new page in the country's development requires stability, work, and trust in democratic institutions.
The interview also touched on relations with the press, elections, economic reforms, and the role of the President in the democratic transition process.

The special parliamentary committee, tasked with verifying the case of counterfeit 25,000- and 5,000-lek banknotes, presented its report yesterday. It addresses the scale of the phenomenon, the damage caused to the economy and citizens, as well as the shortcomings in the control of monetary circulation.
The report emphasizes the need for swift and organized action by financial, banking, and investigative bodies to identify the sources of the forgery and the distribution network. Measures are proposed to withdraw suspicious banknotes from circulation, strengthen control at bank counters, and widely inform the public.
The committee also recommends criminal prosecution of the perpetrators and administrative responsibility for officials who failed to act in time. According to the report, it is essential to increase vigilance in the market, in enterprises, and in institutions where cash payments are made.
