On the verge of the collapse of some cooperatives
Alert to the editorial office
In the northern areas and in some villages of the country, dangerous tendencies toward the disintegration of agricultural cooperatives are appearing. Our correspondents and letters received by the editorial office indicate that in several places disputes are increasing over the division of land, the use of work tools, and the administration of common property. If not checked in time, these phenomena could seriously damage agricultural production and the economic life of the countryside.
The material stresses that full political and legal clarification, enforcement of the law, and respect for the decisions of the competent bodies are necessary. Cooperative peasants should not be encouraged by irresponsible elements to take hasty actions. In the current conditions, safeguarding production, crops, and livestock is a first-order duty.
The editorial office calls on the local bodies, councils, and field specialists to help calm the situation and find lawful and reasonable solutions. Only in this way can conflicts be avoided and the interests of the countryside protected.[?]
What does the people want today?
The government's program and economic reforms are confronted every day with people's immediate needs. The people want bread, better supply, peace, order and security, but also democracy, justice, and the opening of a future perspective. In cities and in the countryside, complaints are heard about shortages, queues, insecurity, and the slow pace of solving problems.
On the other hand, people demand greater responsibility from the leaders, fewer words and more concrete work. It is requested that promises be accompanied by real measures, that the law apply equally to everyone, and that the dignity of the citizen be preserved. In these conditions, the question of what the people want today is a fundamental question for every political force and for every state institution.
The answer cannot be general. It must emerge from everyday life, from people's worries and hopes, from work and from efforts to lead the country out of the crisis.[?]

No democratic concept
The unjust stance of an organization
- YJEKEM -
The basic party organization of the neighborhood is still seething because of the women's organization and especially because of the actions of their district First Secretary. This means that political awareness is at the center of citizens' attention. Such a case became the subject of examination in a meeting, where criticism was raised about the way things were being handled and about the prejudices that had hindered the fair resolution of issues. It was emphasized that there can be no real democracy without respect for dissenting opinions and without equal treatment of citizens. Social organizations should help, not burden the situation with arbitrary behavior.[?]
