The people want peace, stability, work
— from the discussions of the PSSH deputies in the People's Assembly —
We are united with all political forces
From the first day of the session I have followed closely the discussions and analyses made here. They showed that the country needs peace, stability, and work. The people expect us to come forward with clear decisions and with responsibility.
In the present conditions, regardless of political differences, we must keep in mind the country's major interests. This requires all deputies to show prudence, understanding, and determination not to allow the crisis to deepen.
Political forces must cooperate to find common solutions. The people do not expect endless conflicts, but concrete solutions for the economy, public order, and everyday life.

Speech by President Ramiz Alia
Dear Comrade Chairman!
Honourable deputies!
I have the pleasure of appearing before you today with the program of the new government and with the great responsibility arising from the country's situation and from the legitimate expectations of the people. Albania is going through a difficult period, with many economic and social problems that require quick but carefully considered solutions.
The new government will focus its attention on stabilizing the situation, ensuring public order and peace, and taking measures to improve the population's supply. In addition, it will work to stimulate production, expand the space for economic initiative, and deepen the process of democratic reforms.
We must be realistic. The difficulties will not be overcome immediately. But with joint efforts, discipline, and a new spirit of responsibility, we can take firm steps forward.
On this path we need national understanding and a civilized political climate. This is in the interests of the people and the country's future.
