YESTERDAY IN THE PEOPLE'S ASSEMBLY
The socialist party of the Vlorë–Gjirokastër electoral district elected 20 deputies by secret ballot. After this final stage of the secret vote, the new People’s Assembly was declared constituted. Then, from the chair, deputy Shefqete Kadiu, deputy chairwoman of the Republican Party, who had been assigned to preside over the meeting, declared the proceedings of the first sitting open. The People’s Assembly elected the Credentials Committee by open vote in this composition: Simon Stefani, chairman, etc.[?]
The agenda included: 1. Election of the governing bodies of the People’s Assembly; 2. Report of the Credentials Committee; 3. Formation of the government; 4. Other matters.[?]
During the morning, consultations were held among the parliamentary groups regarding the governing bodies of the Assembly and the composition of the government. Proposals were made in the session and candidacies were presented for President of the People’s Assembly, for vice-presidents, and for secretaries.[?]
In the afternoon, discussions continued on the committee report and on the procedures for electing the Assembly presidency. The importance of the normal functioning of representative bodies and of the deputies’ responsibility toward their electorate was emphasized.[?]

In these circumstances, the congress is expected to be not merely a formal forum, but a moment of major turning point, where the voice of the grassroots must be heard more than ever. The party’s change is seen as a condition for its renewal and for restoring people’s trust.[?]
The government's composition is being shaped
Two projects
The Socialist Party has examined…[?] the options for forming the government and for distributing institutional responsibilities. In the discussions, the need for political stability and for a composition that represents the country's main forces was underlined.[?]
It was also emphasized that the new government must confront the economic crisis, shortages on the market, and the population’s great expectations for change. Two possible projects for organizing the cabinet were mentioned.[?]
