THE SOCIALISTS ARE FOR STABILITY AND ORDER, THEIR VICTORY IS THE VICTORY OF THE LAW, A VICTORY OF JUSTICE FOR THE UNDERPRIVILEGED LAYERS, VOTE FOR THE SOCIALISTS, BECAUSE THAT WAY YOU ARE VOTING FOR YOURSELVES AND YOUR CHILDREN.

Everyone comments on us like this socialists:

With the mission of nationwide monetary gold The underestimation of the Socialist Party, especially in the electoral campaign, is becoming a tool used by its opponents. But more and more people, workers, specialists, intellectuals and peasants, are openly saying that only a force with experience, a program and responsibility can bring the country out of the crisis. The Socialist Party presents itself as the force that defends the national interest and the monetary and economic stability of the country. In this framework it is seen as the bearer of an important nationwide mission. Various citizens in meetings and conversations express the conviction that the victory of the socialists will mean more order, more security and more opportunities for a normal life. DECISIVE DAYS

These are the last days before the current electoral campaign closes. They will remain in the memory for their entire lives not only of all those who take part in them, but also of the entire Albanian people, indeed of the generations yet to come. This is so not only because we are passing through the final moments before the March 22, 1992 elections, which are among the first pluralist elections and the most important for the fate of our nation in half a century, but also because the circumstances in which this election campaign and this presentation to the electorate are taking place are full of conditions burdened with extremely great responsibility. It is clear that these elections are such as to determine and seal for centuries the direction of our homeland. They will determine the future of our children and of the Albanian nation as a whole. This electoral campaign is being conducted in conditions where the country has entered an abnormal state because of the economic crisis and political upheavals of recent times and is threatened by a national catastrophe if the way out of it is not quickly established. Therefore this campaign is unlike any other; it has not taken place either in our country or in other countries under normal circumstances. It is being conducted not only under the conditions of the great hardships of life for the broad masses of the people, but also under the pressure of an unprecedented psychological and political campaign, carried out with the lowest means of deceit, slander and political blackmail. Precisely at these decisive moments our people must show calm, wisdom and determination. It must reject the voices that incite hatred, division and revenge, and vote for that political force that guarantees order, law, work and social justice. The Albanian voter today must understand that his fate cannot be left to political adventurers, demagogues and those who feed on chaos. In this sense, the responsibility of every citizen is extraordinary. Every vote carries historical weight. Every vote can help save the country from ruin, anarchy and civil conflict. A vote for the socialists is a vote for stability, for economic recovery, for respect for the law and for the protection of the most vulnerable layers of society. On March 22 the Albanian people will decide not only on a parliament, but on the direction of their entire national life. Let this be a day of reason, maturity and hope.

A HALF-REPLY

The rooster’s last hole... Reply, or rather an idea[?] for “RD” and “Citizens’ Alliance”, as they apparently called their article. But what can you do when even this belated phrase brings nothing other than the same old mud. The author[?] of that reply continues in the same familiar tone, slandering and inventing things about the socialists. To say that this is politics would be excessive; this is only a desperate attempt to hide the truths seen by the entire people. To rely on insults and smearing is not an argument. It is a sign of weakness. The socialists do not need to slander their opponents, because their program speaks for itself. Instead of dealing in fabrications, they would do better to account for the unfulfilled promises and the disorder they have brought into the life of the country. (To be continued on page 4)

Did the anonymous ones take the train again? 3 53, p3-3[?]

In the railway transport sector, concerns continue. Numerous complaints speak of organizational shortcomings, irresponsible acts and damage to public property. Citizens ask who is responsible and why the anonymous ones always remain untouched. The latest case has caused great indignation, because it shows that even where strong discipline is required, irresponsibility prevails. The responsible authorities must intervene without delay. The Expanding Ranks of the Socialist Party

The ranks of the Socialist Party are growing GJIROKASTËR. With two thousand six hundred new members, 1992 has got off to a good start, already in the first two weeks, for the basic organization of the Socialist Party in the district. This has come as a result of the trust that the people have in this party, with clear objectives and complete programs, not empty promises. DIBËR. On February 18, the new Party of the “true socialists” was organized in Dibër. To them too, not only the word “socialist” in issue 43 of “RD”, but even their eye is worth not a single grosh. What a misfortune! No matter how much the democrats shout, a festering sore cannot be covered with water. PËRMET. Just during February, 26 new members joined.
