The uprising in Libofshë of Fieri - a grave challenge to democracy
Albanian TV reported yesterday afternoon the shocking scene that recalls dark and medieval events. In the center of Libofshë, in front of residents and children, the corpse of a man was hanging from a telephone pole. Deeply outraged by this unparalleled event, we strongly demand that the perpetrator of this barbaric act be uncovered as soon as possible and brought before the law. Such events seriously undermine the democratic order and stir fear and insecurity among the people. It is the duty of the state authorities to act without delay and to set an example that the law is above everyone. Our people cannot allow the return of methods of terror and primitive revenge. All political forces and honest citizens must unite against crime.
