WHY WAS PARLIAMENT BLOCKED?
In the People’s Assembly
- did the government block its own program and present the version without the approval of the PD? Or the other way around?
In yesterday’s parliamentary session, sharp debates took place over the government program and the procedure for its approval. Representatives of the opposition and the majority exchanged mutual accusations over the blocking of the proceedings, turning the session into a tense political clash.
According to reports, one side claimed that the government had changed the text of the program without consultation, while the other maintained that the opposition was using procedures to delay approval. At the center of the dispute were political formulations and institutional responsibilities.
Attempts to reach a compromise produced no result and the session was interrupted several times. Various deputies called for respect for the rules of procedure and for public clarification of the official document under discussion.
The tense atmosphere in the chamber showed the fragility of the new parliamentary balances and the difficulties of the political transition in the country.
WORKING ASSEMBLIES
The great interest of the Socialist Party and its allies in political developments and the future of the country is becoming increasingly evident throughout the country. In this tendency of the PSSH, the resurgence of other left-wing forces within the PPSH can also be seen, as well as the determination of its electorate for recovery as the only possible way to save Albania.
Our correspondents and collaborators from the districts state the same with confidence. Despite the inevitable difficulties, especially in the countryside, a broad political and organizational life is developing at the grassroots level.
- the party's leading bodies have begun preparations for the district conferences and the first congress.
- In these days, expanded assemblies are being held at the cooperative and council level, where the platform, statute and political documents are being discussed.
- In Berat, Vlorë, Fier, Korçë and elsewhere, frequent meetings are being held with sympathizers and young people.
- The voice from the grassroots demands that the new leadership be closer to the people, more concrete in solving problems and more open to differing opinions.
- This atmosphere of work and discussion is proof of the belief that the Albanian left still has great organizational and human potential.
In many workplaces and villages, meetings of an informative and organizational nature have been held, in which the importance of the congress and the further reform of the party has been assessed. Many speakers have emphasized that greater commitment is needed to the problems of employment, order, supply and social justice.
Our correspondents report that in many places working groups have been set up to identify membership, refresh the structures and draft proposals to be sent to the district conferences.
At the center of the debate remains the question of how progressive forces can draw closer to ordinary people and how the trust lost during the long period of transition can be restored.
The answer that comes from the grassroots is clear: through work, sincerity and responsibility.
Albanians in Macedonia must be recognized as a state-forming element
— President Ibrahim Rugova says at the meeting with Gligorov
The presidential elections in Macedonia must ensure peace and stability, but this cannot be achieved without recognizing Albanians as a state-forming element. This is what President Ibrahim Rugova stated in the meeting with Kiro Gligorov.
According to reports, the meeting emphasized the need for Albanians to have equal political and national status, fair representation and guarantees for their rights. President Rugova underlined that without a fair solution to the Albanian question in Macedonia, stability in the region remains fragile.
The discussion also focused on developments in Kosovo and on the possibilities for closer political coordination among Albanian factors.
The meeting with President Gligorov was seen as part of efforts to avoid interethnic tensions and to create conditions for democratic dialogue.
LIFE MOTIFS
That Sunday had been that kind of day. In the remote village, people had gone out early to the fields and courtyards. Beneath the gentle spring sun, everything seemed calmer and more bearable. In truth, everyday life carried heavy burdens on its back, but people still found the strength to look ahead.
The author describes a simple world in which work and human dignity remain unshakable values. At the center are the family, hope and the effort not to give in to poverty and insecurity.
This literary-publicistic piece comes as a tribute to the ordinary person, to his moral steadfastness and to the small beauty of everyday life.
MR. MEXI: the miners of the mine are waiting for a wage...
For two days now, the miners of the Krraba mine, lined up near the compressors, have been waiting to receive their delayed pay. They express deep dissatisfaction with the economic situation and the lack of attention from the responsible institutions.
The workers say they have been working for months in difficult conditions and without security for the future. Their families are facing a shortage of food and an inability to cover the most basic expenses.
The article addresses Mr. Meksi, asking him to intervene to resolve this situation immediately and to avoid allowing an entire sector of the economy to collapse.
Reflections
THE FORMER REAL OPPOSITION IS SEEKING FULL POWER
The spirit of yesterday’s game was more political than anything else. The noise, the tension, the mutual accusations and the confusion in the chamber created the impression of a parliament that has still not found its balance.
From what unfolded yesterday in the Assembly, one can conclude that an important part of the political actors does not seek only to control the government, but to take hold of all instruments of power.
In this sense, blocking procedures, using the rules as a political weapon and postponing essential decisions point to a clear strategy for institutional dominance.
The article argues that the former real opposition is extending its influence beyond its constitutional mandate and is using the unstable climate to consolidate control.
