LET US PREPARE OURSELVES AND THE MEASURES FOR VICTORY IN THE LOCAL ELECTIONS
Within the framework of the PSPA, political activity is being carried out to organize and mobilize all members and sympathizers for the local elections of 26 July. This was emphasized yesterday at the meeting of socialist activists from the Vlora district by the general secretary of the PSPA, comrade Servet Pëllumbi. Speaking about the political situation in the country and the tasks facing our party under the current conditions, he said that after the elections of 22 March the PSPA is entering a new phase of political commitment and action. It must be closer to the masses, listen carefully to their problems and provide the fairest possible solutions.
Comrade Servet Pëllumbi pointed out that the local elections will be an important test of the strength and authority of the PSPA. For this reason the party structures must work seriously to put forward the best candidates, the most honest and capable of representing the interests of the people in the local government bodies. He stressed that criticism of political opponents alone is not enough; what must also be presented to the electorate is a clear, concrete and workable program.
Addressing the economic situation, he dwelt on the difficulties the country is going through, the many shortages, unemployment, market disruptions and the insecurity felt by different strata of the population. According to him, only well-organized work, with a spirit of responsibility and respect for the law, can build citizens' confidence and open the way to stabilization.
At the meeting, the need to strengthen the party's ties with young people, intellectuals, workers and the peasantry was also discussed, along with increasing the role of the basic organizations and ensuring faster and more accurate information from the center to the base and vice versa. Activists from Vlora raised concerns and views regarding the preparation of the campaign, ways of communicating with voters and preserving the unity of the party.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that victory in the local elections requires organization, patience, persistent work and faith in democratic left-wing values.
The Bells of Transparency
On 4 December, TV Pegasi held its electoral conference. Just as the aim of this conference will be transparent, so too is its guest, who also led its discussion with great interest. At this conference, the need for transparency, the responsibility of the media and the role of free journalism in a democratic society were discussed. The problems that arise when accurate information is lacking, as well as the consequences of distorting facts, were addressed.
The participants emphasized that transparency is not a slogan, but a necessary condition for restoring public trust. The need for institutions to account publicly and for decision-making not to remain closed within the offices of the administration was also discussed. The discussion brought up examples from everyday life, from the economy and from the activity of the local government bodies.
At the end of the meeting, several recommendations were adopted and it was requested that the voice of the public be heard more.

With acts as well as substantive ones of the sanitary unit and various places, the time of Albanian public television is passing into a new phase. Yesterday's program brought to the public several problems that directly affect citizens' lives. Attention was drawn to the shortcomings of the administration, the delays in solving social issues and the insufficiency of official information.
The program also dealt with topics such as household economy, lack of energy, difficulties in transport and rising prices. The reality presented was harsh, but necessary in order to understand the situation in the country better.
Numerous comments were made about the way institutions should react and about the role of the media in portraying everyday life without embellishment.

The first conference of the PSPA in the Tirana district held yesterday a meeting of explanatory character, where participants asked numerous questions and were given answers on matters of organization, relations with the base and the party's political positions. At the center of the discussion were the immediate tasks of strengthening internal democratic life and increasing the effectiveness of political work.
It was emphasized that the PSPA needs a more open spirit of communication, respect for different opinions and the involvement of as many members as possible in decision-making. Some participants raised concerns about the functioning of the organizations, the need to renew the cadres and the links with the electorate in the neighborhoods and enterprises.
The meeting was lively and critical, while the leaders pledged to review the proposals submitted.

DISREGARD FOR THE LAW OR DELIBERATE SILENCE
EXPLANATIONS REGARDING THE DELAY FOR THE SHKODRA TRIAL
