A LITTLE LIGHT, A LITTLE LIGHT...
A LITTLE LIGHT,
A LITTLE LIGHT...
Durr. (Taken over) — At 5 in the evening, one after another, the television sets in Durrës households announce that the favorite soap opera has started. This is the first signal that switches on the lights and brings back electric power. Not even 20 minutes pass before the lights go out again. Residents of the neighborhoods are left surprised and a little indignant, but not the specialists of N.Sh.E. At least here in Durrës, electric power is being used in installments, so that everyone can enjoy it in small doses. This is a new form of distribution, but apparently the only possible one under the present conditions. The lights are switched on and off according to the power schedule, according to the networks and according to some unforeseen intervention on the line. Meanwhile, citizens have grown used to measuring their time by the lights. If there is electricity, some housework gets done; if not, they wait. Thus, the phrase “a little light” has become part of everyday conversation. (Continues on page 9)

Let revanchism be ended
The mobilized pressure of the Social Democratic Party for revanchism and a turn by the leadership of the People’s Assembly
What has been revanchist is no longer a secret. They want to erase with a stroke of the pen the achievements of the people’s revolution and return the country to its old history. In parliament and in the political forums, efforts are being made to change course. The Social Democratic Party is exerting pressure to overturn the balances, to dismantle what has been established, and to restore the spirit of political revenge. If this happens, the consequences will be severe for the country and for stability. (Continues on page 4)

FROM THE PEOPLE’S ASSEMBLY

In the hall of the People’s Assembly yesterday, heated debates were held regarding procedural decisions and issues of how the proceedings were being directed. Various deputies raised accusations of deliberate deviations, interference from above, and attempts to steer votes according to narrow political interests. Clarity, respect for the rules, and the avoidance of any pressure on deputies were demanded. The tension rose at several moments, but the session continued amid objections and occasional interruptions. (Continues on page 5)

“Albanian television plays the role
of the police”
Interview by the Kosovar journalist based in Sweden, Milaim Zeka,
given to editor Hamdi Ibra
In the general Albanian opinion, television and the media have taken on a role that often goes beyond informing. According to Milaim Zeka, Albanian television acts as a kind of moral and political police, influencing public perceptions, selecting topics, and exerting indirect pressure on individuals and groups. He says this happens when the media loses its independence and turns into an instrument of direction. The interview also touches on the situation in Kosovo, the role of the diaspora in Sweden, and the need for a freer and more professional press. (Continues on page 2)

1467 YEARS WERE THROWN INTO THE MAIN ROAD
In 1993 it does not matter to preserve the archives of our distant history. It is enough to know the exact dates, to take photographs and film, and then let others understand what they were. Later we will have time to deal with ancient cities, with castles and churches, with amphitheaters and rare historical objects. A big deal, well, bu-...
