EXPLANATIONS SOUGHT OVER THE FINANCIAL SCANDAL
- Request for a plenary session on the bank’s activities -
Starting from some concerns related to the role of the state bank in the financial and social crisis, the leadership of the Socialist parliamentary group is asking the government for explanations.
According to an announcement made yesterday in Tirana, the Socialist parliamentary group addressed an official letter to the presidency of the People’s Assembly and to Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi.
The letter calls for the Assembly’s agenda to include a discussion of the financial situation and the bank’s role, as well as the measures to deal with it.
The request notes that public opinion expects full clarification of the concrete responsibilities and of the steps that will be taken.
It also asks that deputies be informed about the state treasury, loans, and unpaid obligations.
The letter bears the signature of the leadership of the Socialist parliamentary group.
I SPEAK IN THE NAME OF THE ORPHANS
(continued on page 4)
Did you recognize the body?
It stood in line and went away,
but it did not go far…
…
May God protect us from those
who trade in another person’s tears.
An orphan needs a hand,
not grand words.
Who listens to them today?
Who will stand up for them?
We speak in the name of the orphans,
who have no one else.
Meeting of former political prisoners and internees under fascism
At a meeting held in Tirana, former political prisoners and internees discussed their economic and social situation.
Participants called for greater attention from the state and for faster implementation of the law on compensation.
The meeting stressed that a large part of this social group is living in difficult conditions.
It was also called for the values of anti-fascist resistance to be preserved and for the victims of persecution to be honored.

SUBMISSION
Meeting of former political prisoners and internees
under fascism
Thirsty and lonely, accompanied,
he always prayed. The rogue on one side
liked to appear before her eyes
so as to make a fuss.
Being aware of his inferior position
in relation to her, he liked to behave in a very
lively way, with lots of movement and gestures, so as to attract
attention. Outwardly
he resembled a man who follows the fashion of moral
deformation. The type of person
who does not know how to keep silent when he should,
who needs to put himself on display and
make noise in order to hide
his own emptiness inside.
In an environment where dignity is lacking,
submission quickly turns into habit. He
adopts a kind of language, a kind of behavior, a kind of laughter, that
is not born from freedom, but from fear. This is the psychology of
submission.

THE CONSTITUTIONAL CIVIL SERVANT MADE A FINAL DIVORCE
WITH THE CONSTITUTION; IT MUST
CHANGE ITS SEAT AND ITS DESTINATION
Interview with Mr. Spartak Ngjela, lawyer and vice-president of the
Association of Lawyers of Albania, given to our editor L. M. Rama
(Part one)
Interviewer: Mr. Ngjela, is any solution being observed regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court?
Spartak Ngjela: Its decision solves nothing. On the contrary, it has further deepened the institutional conflict and has created a dangerous precedent.
Interviewer: Why do you call it a divorce from the Constitution?
Spartak Ngjela: Because it has gone beyond the spirit and the letter of the Constitution. When a constitutional institution acts against its own powers, it loses the reason for its existence.
Interviewer: What consequences does this bring?
Spartak Ngjela: The consequences are political, legal, and moral. Trust in the rule of law is undermined and confusion is created in public opinion.
