A COMPLETE LACK OF SERIOUSNESS ON THE PART OF THE GOVERNMENT: PILOTS IN LAW WITHOUT ANY PRELIMINARY STUDY

It is forgotten that almost all parties have accepted that, for the road to a market economy, we must begin from an equal starting point - Interview with the chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Namik Dokle - Question: The proposals presented by the government at the previous session of the People's Assembly regarding cuts in the state administration and the central apparatus, as well as the management of part of the national capital for privatization, were met with reactions from the deputies. On this matter, can you tell us something about the position of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party? Answer: Yes, there was a broad debate. The first conclusion of the Socialist Parliamentary Group is that the project presented by the government has no serious preliminary study at all. This means that decisions of such major economic and social consequence cannot be made on guesswork, under propagandistic pressure, or for an immediate political effect. We have asked that every such measure be backed by economic reasoning, a reflection of the social consequences, and public transparency. The government cannot act hastily, bypassing discussion with political forces and specialists. Otherwise, every reform risks failing and bringing new injustices instead of correcting old ones. It is forgotten that almost all parties have accepted that the transition to a market economy must begin from an equal start for all citizens. Question: What is your assessment of the formula chosen for the so-called 'pilots' in the law? Answer: That is precisely the core of our criticism. To favor certain categories by law without a full analysis, without measuring the social effects, without clarifying the sources and criteria, means creating new privileges. Justice cannot be restored through new injustices. We cannot accept that, under the name of reform, other inequalities be legalized. The Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party has defended and continues to defend reform, but a reform based on legality, rationality, study and responsibility. Experiments cannot be made with people's destinies and with public property. Question: Do you think these measures are also related to the political situation? Answer: Undoubtedly yes. When the government fails to deliver results in the economy, it tries to create political noise with unfounded initiatives. Instead of solving the real problems of unemployment, production, prices and economic order, it throws around ideas that create division and insecurity. This does not serve the country's stability. We believe that reforms must be inclusive, well thought out, and consulted upon. Every hasty action will worsen the citizens' situation and damage the prospects for economic recovery. KV is an old troublemaker

There are two common points in this stance of the landowners of the July 6 assembly and of the Meksi government: opposition to reform and hatred toward Kaso Tërtesi. The first is understandable in the universe of these gentlemen because their lives are tied to this kind of property. The second relates to the old problems of political revenge, with malicious attitudes against left-wing public figures. (Continues on page 4)
